Heck, this thread isn't even about Jerry Richardson. But someone asked a Richardson related question, so I answered with what I know.

There's a separate thread more suited to discussing Richardson, though. This one should be about Tepper.

Yea true. I generally read all the threads during the off season though. I have the overall vibe of your Richardson threads man.

Cmon, be honest, you were a little bit pissed when you found out they were calling him Mister.

Eeeehhh, not really.

Of all the things he's done, that's not exactly high on the list. It's stupid, but not particularly egregious.

(to me, anyway; others may differ)

I’m just saying... Personally, if I were you,  I would have been a little bit offended that he abused the name Mister.

I know it’s not rational, that’s just being a human. Disrespecting the name like that causes something in the subconscious I think .

http://m.wbtv.com/story/38541799/a-new-chapter-is-about-to-begin-for-the-carolina-panthers-heres-what-we-know

One of Tepper's early investors is Alan Shealy, principal at the Boise investment firm Claremont Partners. Shealy describes Tepper as a "quintessential opportunist."

"If he sees opportunity somewhere, he will cross the Rubicon to get there," Shealy said.

I wonder if seeing bargains on the free agent market, or in th supplemental draft will apply. Indeed, Tepper made his fortune on risky investments, so what about players with potential issues? On one hand, he has been influenced by the Steelers. On the other hand, he's obviously relatively fearless when treading in risky waters.

It will be fascinating to see what transpires.

Didn't realize I left the link out. Here's the original:

New chapter set to begin for the Panthers

As to risky players, I expect he'll likely take the same approach the Steelers do, so not quite as restrictive as the Panthers have typically been but still a long way from the Bengals or the Raiders.

One exception: Given the current league emphasis and Tepper's personal history, pretty sure anyone with a domestic violence blotch on their record need not apply.

Aaaahhh, I get it :)

Most of the criticism I've heard of that has been to associate it with an "old Southern plantation" kinda vibe. I didn't take it that way, but that's me.

Honestly, if that were the worst thing he'd done, we'd all likely be better off.

On the topic of "winning"...

It's been mentioned before, but Tepper was one of the minority owners who pushed for the Steelers to fire Mile Tomlin this offseason.

For whatever you think of Tomlin, his win-loss record is pretty good, better than any coach we've had for sure.

If I were working for somebody who didn't think Mike Tomlin's record was good enough, I think I'd be nervous.

srsly? why did Chud leave???

Srsly have no idea except the Browns thought he'd make a great OC lol. Glad he left. His leaving accelerated Cam's development no matter Shula's deficiencies. Remember, Chud was the one who would not let Cam audible at the line, his game plans were like fantasy daydreams and it seemed he never took the opponent into account when drawing them up, he couldn't make in-game adjustments, and it was his way or no way. {{shivers}}

tbh I don't have a problem with controlling a rookie QB. Chud would have probaly loosed up over the years. but, we will never know.

now he's in Indy trying to make Luck look good.

thanks for that.  Yeah it is customary and required by law to post links to articles you copy - otherwise you are breaking copyright law as scot did here.  Could also get Jeremy into a whole poo pot of trouble.

No but you can make really stupid statements without trying. False and incorrect ones too. You seem to be able to do all of those without much effort.

Maybe at some point you might actually say something that contributes to a discussion, but I'm not betting on it.
