Frank could come off the books after this year.. How?

Frank Kaminsky is a RFA next year - his qualifying offer would only be $4.9m. If any other team extends an offer that beats that - do you let him walk?

I guess this is his final shot to prove himself worth a damn this year. It's a 'wait and see' issue but wanted to run the idea of creating more space next year.

One huge takeaway from the late game last night was Frank being interviewed. He mentioned the coaching staff wanting him to play a lot of Center. I really like that idea. He played Center in college and always seemed like he was playing out of position. It seemed like his best games were when he was at Center. 

Now, I won't mind if we don't resign because he has disappointed but the idea of him playing at Center really gives him a chance.

If my math is correct we can open up about 24 mil after next year.  Let's say 3-4 mill for draft picks that leaves around 20 for Kemba...is that enough?  First year maybe with larger money later.  Seems possible if he wants to stay.

This would include dropping Frank and Lamb and possibly Bacon.

Frank or the Kidd need to come off the books, love Kidd G for his athleticism and effort and hope it wouldnt be him, hes a great team guy and I still think his shot can be figured out

Frank playing center is a catch 22. Imagining him trying to guard Ayton down low makes me cringe, but imagining Ayton trying to guard Frank at the perimeter makes me laugh.

I have a feeling this team is going to play matchups. Against guys like Ayton, Howard, Cousins expect to see more Biz and Hernangomez.  Quicker Centers we will use Cody and Frank.

He has like no value on the market or to our team.  He can't out power anyone and his 3 ability in the NBA (which is supposed to be his strength) is streaky at best.  He's useless except for stupid social media dribble.

I'd say we let him walk if someone's dumb enough to swoop in and massively overpay. He's looking more and more like a finished product and, unless there's a big leap this season, that's not gonna be worth a huge financial commitment.

With Batum moving to the 3, and Bridges waiting in the wings, I wonder if we don't see a situation where MKG can play the 4?  If so, could be a situation where MKG, Marvin, and Frank are fighting for two spots.

he is same size and weight as Draymond - so i don't see why not.. I've never even thought about MKG at the 4..

I bet he gets 6 to 8 mil a year, which is more of an indictment on how out of control NBA salaries are than an appraisal of his skills.

there is some team out there that I believe will pay him 12-14  million , if we were not strapped already we would be that team we have proven that

Unless Bridges is a total bust and/or we trade Marv, I can see MKG getting very limited playing time this season.  His offensive game is the same as it was three years ago and his defense has started to slip, not to mention he can't stay healthy.  Even a 4 these days has to be able to hit a jump shot, and preferably 3s, and MKG still can't throw it in the ocean so what exactly is he bringing to the table at this point?
