Turner wants Newton to be more consistent

Well, I think he means flattening out that curve and shifting the graph upwards. Making those valleys a lot closer to the peaks. Consistency will do that.

The biggest thing we can do to help him, something we almost all scream about every week, is making him not have to carry the entire offense every Sunday. I hope Norv is able to design an offense to be able to do that.

Sometimes he carried the offense because he had to. Other times he took it on himself when he had easy options to rely on others. It will be iportant for him to take what the defense gives him instead of trying to do it all on his own when everyone is keying on him.

Well, that's the age old question:  Would you rather have somebody who's sometimes great and sometimes terrible or someone who's consistently good?

Basically, Brady vs Favre.

70% Brady, 30% Favre. That's what I want. But I'll settle for 50/50 honestly.

Christ this article makes zero sense. Cam is perfectly fine. All we need is an alite offensive line, an superior OC who can call plays, a RB that can run through the tackles and legit WRs including a true number one like Julio Jones.  All this will make Cam great.

"If our offense is amazing at all positions, Cam will look great!"

Well, yea, what mid grade NFL starting QB wouldn't look great with a complete offense around him.  Case-freaking-Keenum looked good!

Exactly.  Not to mention that I'm not even sure we need to have "a true #1 WR" as people love to say these days.  I know I'm not the first to say it, but how many true #1's are there? AB, Julio, AJ, Hopkins, OBJ, and you could maybe throw in 2-3 more names, but that's about it.  None of our WR's were anywhere close to being #1 receivers during Cam's MVP season.  The change at OC has me more excited for the upcoming season than almost any FA WR signing we could have potentially made.

You could eliminate a lot of the “bad stuff” if you’d just allow Cam to be Cam. Give him the freedom to make changes/audibles and most importantly utilize the no huddle offense more than once a month.

If OC’s would move their ego’s aside and forget about putting their own stamp on each game this team would be 100x better.

He has looked at his best running no-huddle though its a relatively small sample size.

I hope Norv understands this (I expect he does) and why that puts ridiculous amounts of pressure on a defense. Brady running a no-huddle doesn't scare defenses like Cam running a no-huddle. No NFL QB scares defenses more than Cam running a no-huddle because there are far too many options (pun intended) to account for...the biggest of which is Cam just taking off.

Good, simple goal to aim for, but thay being said, i can lay out a million reasons those valleys have existed and they have nothing to do with Cam's performance.  A few have been Shula, workload, lack of help (i.e., quality blocking, personnel, playcalling/Shula again).  Lucky for us, and Cam, I think this is the first season all of those areas have been addressed and fixed.

There is only one Cam, and i'm proud to have him as our QB.  History will bear out what a force of nature he is.

It’s Rivera who doesn’t like the no huddle, Norv or Shula have little say in the type of tempo our offense runs in.

Also Favre is a good qb, Brady is a great one because he’s consistent (and just much MUCH better) I don’t see the consistency comparison, neither is perfect, and on any given Super Bowl I don’t know many who’d take Farve over Brady.

With all of that going for me I could be a great QB.

Not really but you get the point. Actually great quarterbacks are the ones which make those around them better. They don't need a great cast around them already. But it helps.

I really do think, although Cam would never say it, that us not doing it more was due to Shula's ego.  Shula thought if he could get things clicking with his calls, despite the turtle's pace of the calls coming in and incessant delay of games and burned timeouts, that everyone would credit him for it.  His ego just couldn't allow him to take a step back and do what's best for the team - let Cam run things.

2017 season

# of no huddle plays 103. Rush 40. passes 61.   2 sacks?

Passing with the no huddle we were 29/61 for a completion rate of 47.5% yards per attempt 4.7 and a QB rating of 59.7.

Compare this with using the huddle which we did 925 times. We passed 264/440 for a 60% rate average yards per attempt was 6.4 and a QB rating of 79.5.

Now tell me why we don't use the no huddle all the time and why Rivera uses it more sparingly. Teams track these stats weekly and game plan. accordingly.

Instead of all the crazy theories why not look at the facts instead. Unless that would ruin all the baseless speculation.

Neither of them are good, the only difference is that the only time we use the no huddle is in desperation.
