The Wire is the greatest show ever made.

Just finished season 1 of Succession and was impressed. The characters are all so despicable that it's difficult to fall in love with the show in the traditional sense but it's very well done and executed in my mind.

Roman’s reaction to the space shuttle was bleepin hilarious.  Shiv is the only one of the kids that is worth a damn.  My favorite character is her or Stewy.

I have tried, and will continue to try to get into The Wire...but it's a big struggle for me for some reason.

I'm a weird one when it comes to TV...I am currently struggling through Mad Men, got almost to the end of BB, and couldn't push through.  Stopped watching The Americans after a few seasons,  same with Homeland and Soprano's.

Haven't fired up Deadwood or Boardwalk yet, but am nervous I will run out of gas on them too.

Loved Sherlock, am working through Justified.  Watched all of Longmire.  It's just weird, as I know those are great shows, but they certainly haven't grabbed me.  Do love GOT.

That said, Winter is Coming, and I'll spend a lot more time indoors soon, so I'll likely give all of those another shot soon.

And Shiv is a scumbag in her own right. Why do I think Kieran Culkin is probably just playing himself?

And the way all those kids cower in the presence of Dad is crazy.

Yes she is, but she seems to be a competent scumbag, the brothers are worthless, although I still love Roman.

I thought the same thing about Culkin.

Starting to think that may very well be true.

Loved MASH re-runs, love GOT, and a lot of the funny ones....The Office, Parks and Rec, 30 rock, etc...

Also liked strange shows like Foyle's War and Midsummer Murders a lot, and love anything Sherlock.  It's a very weird thing.

And... while we're at it, wtf is going with Sharp Objects?

2 episodes left and my head is swimming after last night.

That show is phenomenal so far...I hope they can finish it off.  I have not read a single thing on it because I know it is based on a book and do not want anything spoiled.  I have a bunch of different possibilities and theories going on in my head.  After the most previous episode I have kind of begun to meld several of them together into a theory I really like.  That being said, it is probably completely wrong.

It is different because it is only a limited run series as opposed to actually having multiple seasons, but it is the most engaged I have been in a show since The Leftovers went off the air.  It is basically a small town murder mystery.  The show it most makes me think of is True Detective.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
