I think there were other DEs we wanted and they went early in that draft.  We moved up for Hall because he was the last, second-tier DE---he was a reach.  Still, I hoped he would develop.

Get him on PS and next year maybe he can put out a better and much improved preseason!

But I want both though to make it lol

I heard Andre Smith made it.

I hope so--Andre  was solid until getting banged up.  Special teamer who can play behind Luke (Mayo will probably become a free agent next year)..  Dang, Hurney did really well.  Carter?  I had never heard of him. Thomas?  A steal.  Even Haynes is looking like a "not so dumb" move.

Hurney is making much better decisions and also how much did DG influence RR and staff when it came to draft time?

Hurney is showing his old traits but refined with improvements. I am still cautiously optimistic.

Still too early to tell about Butler and Bradberry, but given, that was a bad draft overall. Plenty of other GMs have had similar drafts. Gettleman was good with finances and like other GMs, hit or miss with picks. Unfortunately for him, he appears to be a bit of an asshole.

Finances like the Kalil deal? The Munnerlyn deal? He had a ton of cap space the last offseason he was here and just threw it away.

Gettleman’s specialty was supposed to be having an “eye for talent”, he failed miserably a lot more than he won for someone who was supposed to excel in that category

Vernon Butler hasn’t progressed one bit and looked like trash Thursday. I actually had high hopes for Butler but if he wasn’t a former 1st rounder he’d be given his walking papers today

Okay, you're smarter than all of us. I'm sorry I ever questioned that. You win.

Feel better?

The entire 2016 draft class

Bradberry's a solid starter who could still become great, and Big Vern is still yet to be determined. Overall yes a bad draft class but far from the worst--many other teams have had way worse drafts than that.

Bradberry’s effort in run support makes Eli Apple’s effort look great

I'm sorry, but let's just remove the bandaid.

If you're rationalizing failure because a player was obtained by a certain former GM, you get absolutely no opportunity to bitch about Jerry Richardson because you are actively defending the same mediocrity.

He was physically gifted, and physically weak. I always think of a college player who can't bench press more than his mother as lazy.  Hall added a ton of weight over the 2-3 years at A&M, but maybe he lacked work ethic.  Those don't get better, they get cut.  We shall see tomorrow if they are done with him or not.
