Are we really about to start Colin Jones at safety?

Correct me if I am wrong but Searcy is in the protocol which means we have 3 safeties on the roster. We all know Ron loves vets so I am going out on a limb to say Jones will get the start on Sunday. I know we don’t give a flying fug about the safety position but to go into a game with only 3 healthy safeties seems crazy given our luck with injuries this year.

Am I missing something?

What’s Jones deficiency? Coverage or tackling or both? He’s plenty big and fast enough. Probably faster than our other safety’s

Terrible in coverage and doesn't take the best angles. He used to be really damn fast which made him a great special teams gunner but he has slowed down a little over the years. Great as a 3rd string safety but should never see the field as a starter.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
