For real though, what happened to their defense this year? Did Lattimore buy into his own hype or something? They've been torched twice this year, and snuck out a win because a kicker blew.

@saints4lifeagain What's up?

I spent a few hours watching All 22 film last night. There's a lot of things going on, outside of the first game, none of it being on Lattimore.

Biggest thing, imo, is there's a lot of confusion and miscommunications on the back end in zone concepts. I think Allen needs to simplify things a bit. On top of that, the #2 corner spot has been bad. Crawley got beat a couple times, made a change and PJ Williams got absolutely roasted by Ridley.

I came away feeling a bit better than I went in, to be honest. The dline is getting a lot of pressure. They're allowing a league low 3.0 YPC in the run game. I think you'll see some changes this week, as Payton basically called Allen out for some of these things in the presser.

sorry but a team's willingness to try to injure players is best measured by the number of unnecessary roughness penalties enforced against them. that's a good clean play by

I never said it was a willingness to injure. The play is legal. Should it be, if we're concerned about player safety? No. I won't call it dirty. Just a trash play.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
