Maurice Jones-Drew complained that he wasn't a big enough part of the offense. Del Rio gave him the ball 38 times last Sunday.

How many throws go Smitty's way this week?

I think they will have a similar gameplan as last week going into the Bills game. Smitty actually appeared to initially be part of the gameplan....they will go to him the first drive....if Jake looks to be bad Jake and has no accuracy right off the bat....they will then play keep away from Jake like they did to finish the last game. I could easily see him held to under 50 yards again.....

I am going out on a limb believing that Davidson knows what he is doing. Therefore I am going to say that Smitty lines up in the slot this week and we send him in motion as well. He gets involved in the offense much more given that Buffalo will be loading the box. He still won't get over 100 yards but i think he will get 7 catches for 80 yards and he stops whining at least for a week. (I know he is a warrior and very emotional, but it still was whining).

I would hate to see Jake and Davidson try and force the ball to Smitty just to please him...that is a slew of interceptions waiting to happen.

Instead, I want to see Davidson use Smitty differently. Reverses...wildcat reverses...screens...etc...

Do NOT just try and force the ball to him with the way that Jake is struggling to see the field.

He will definitely get more touches this week. Probably have 7 or 8 catches and nothing deep. Couple WR screens, a reverse, and I would like to see him run the slant again that he got the two point conversion on. I am still a little surprised he was so upset about the game last week. I know he wants to be more involved but a win is a win and he is downfield blocking and requiring a double team which helps us run. Throw him a bone and get him the ball a few more times.

He was frustrated b/c he did get open (despite the double teams)....Jake use to hit him now and he is struggling. Jake had two shots deep....normally Jake could have put at least one of the two on target for Smith to try to make a play. There was another play where Jake was late making the throw when Smitty was wideopen near the sidelines...since Jake was late seeing it he ended up throwing out of bounds as coverage finally got to Smith.

Jake isn't making plays w/ ANY WRs..that is just a sign of a stuggling QB. It is probably 40% playcalling and 60% Jake.

    • If we don't extend him, there is no way another team would offer him more than a one year $10m prove it deal lol.
    • He isn’t but looking at what those guys are getting paid, paying him what he’s making now wouldn’t have been terrible, they should have and still should be looking at pairing some guys with brown to form a pretty dominant d line
    • The Bryce hate is nearly laughable.  He looked like garbage the first two games, but has really, really shown improvement and growth.  People who know football are taking notice.  Will Bryce ever be Arron Rodgers, Farvre, Manning or any other hotshot gunslinger?  No, but I think he is a smart football player who has survived a lot more than most other QB's would have after 2.5 years.  So long as this injury doesn't linger I think you will see legitimate growth over the next two years, with a big leap coming next season. Reich and Brown not working together, Duce causing trouble behind the scenes.  Starting WR's of Mingo and Chark.  No legitimate scheme for the OL.  Fitterer's general incompetence. An owner who was desperate for attention.  How did Zac Wilson, Mariota, Winston, Tribuski, Rosen, Lawarence, Fields, Jones, Pickett, and Richardson fair after 2.5 years?  We see what happens when the Texans have not given Stroud the support. The 2018 draft had great talent, they just needed to mature, hell we wasted two of the top three drafted that year.  Outside of Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, or Drake Maye, I'm not sure I really would want any other 1st round QB drafted in the past 10 years? RELAX......  Bryce is our guy as we grow as a team.  The only other option I currently see is maybe a buy low draft pick on Drew Allar if he falls to the third round or lower. Bryce is going to be extended.  He won't get Prescott money which would benefit our team going forward.  A mid range extension like Darnold or Baker got may be just the thing this team needs to keep growing.
