Adams is going to be a issue when we start facing pass heavy teams, still need a coverage safety. 

Any run stuffing dt would be nice 

we have a log jam at WR, the offense just needs to open up the playbook. It’s unfortunate, a lot of decent WR on the block this year

Lorenzo Alexander is an option from the Bills. He is PFF's highest graded EDGE defender as of last week. He is 35 and in the last year of his contract so the Bills are not really likely to want to bring him back while they rebuild and they are obviously not going anywhere this year so he could very likely be had for very cheap. Likely a 6th or 7th would do it. He is making $2.5M this year so we don't need to do much to make room for him. We have a good trading relationship with Buffalo. He plays in McDermott's defense so there would be very little adjustment period to play in ours.

The negatives are that this is truly a half season rental with really no future use for him at his age and he is really a 3-4 OLB rather than a 4-3 DE with his size at 6'1" 245 but McD is making it work with him in their defense. Surely we can just plug him into ours in the same role they are using since it's basically identical. Maybe just use him as a pass rush specialist on 3rd downs and at the end of games. As a bonus he might be able to impart some knowledge on how to play as an EDGE at his size to Marquis Haynes.

I would 100% do it for a 7th and almost definitely would do it for a 6th.

LT is a glaring hole but that's not fixable in a trade.

If we had a player I would take a seventh for, it might be Mayo.  We have Smith behind him and Mayo is a bit limited in a 4-3, but may be good in a 3-4.

I would love to get a pick for Munnerlyn.  PLEAASE.   

You may see interest in a player like Cox Jr. 

Do not expect to see Funchess moved.  I doubt we touch the DT rotation.

I realize that we are looking for the missing piece, but I think our problem is the newness.  Think about it:  Reid, Jackson on defense--Van Roten, Clark, Samuel, Moore, Thomas, Anderson, Wright, and Smith on offense.  That is 8 new players, and about 8 new starters. New OC, New DC.  New QB coach, new owner, etc.

I heard the Jags were entertaining offers for Dante Fowler Jr. If thats the case I feel we should at least be in the discussion for him, could cost us a 2nd but well worth it imo.

Conley please!

 

1. Big athletic zone CB- dude showed great zone reaction skills in college and looked like he could be a solid fit in our scheme.  Just hasnt panned out in Oaklands system 

2. He's a former 1st round pick, so we'd have him under contract, with his 5th year option, for 3 more seasons.  People arent realizing, Bradberry is only under contract for 1 more season.  After next year, how much will he be asking as a #1 Cb who has been solid.  Dont wont another, JNo leave and stuck empty handed again.

3. If he does pan out, we could slide Jackson to Nickle where Captain has still struggled

 

 

People forget, there were some outside rumors that we like Conley at our 1st round spot even over Latttimore and was a dark horse ti be picked where we got CMC

While that may be true about liking Conley more than Lattimore, that was Gettleman, not Hurney.

I would love to get him. I think he could be had for a 4th or 5th.
