Cowboys vs Saints

Shocker

is Ron right? defense wins games...

I would say its more like defense can win a game. Thursday night games typically give an advantage to the home team, although the Saints were coming off a full week since their last game.

But my fear is this game will only reinforce this idea of winning with defense to Ron and the staff. Will he realize our defense isn't playing up to the standard the Cowboys showed?

And it creates another interesting question. If the rule changes alone aren't enough to explain the clear regression in the Panthers defense this year, then what has? Can Rivera correctly identify it and is he willing to take the steps necessary to correct it?

Just saw that hit on Kamara.. How obvious can you get? Nfl officiating is so inconsistent

There were terrible calls and missed calls all night for both sides last night. It was a bad look for the "most experienced" officiating crew in the nfl.

If they go into week 17 even or with the Saints just a game behind, they're not resting starters.

I am saying the Saints and Rams will drop at least one more, whether they rest their starters or not.   It could be an unexpected loss.  Tampa has had New Orleans number over the last season or two, much as they have had ours, and New Orleans weakness is its pass defense.  It wouldn't be a complete shock if Tampa beat them in Florida.  And the Rams have a game at Chicago.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
