Players only meeting has happened

2013 Panthers

Pretty sure we lost in the divisional playoffs. Not that great of an example yeah we started 1-3 but that could be for many reasons, not a players meeting. Texans started 0-3 this year. I never heard of a players only meeting that sparked their 8 win streak. It’s called finding your groove and making adjustments. Teams get off to slow starts all the time

Not really.

Fans love them but they rarely mean anything.

The Panthers had one in 1996 that went well, but yeah it's rare.

It's a huge sign a coach is going to be canned. So I guess there is a meaning but not a good one. Imo Rivera lost this team after the Seattle game.

Imagine being DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel at the beginning of the year and you're watching scrubs like funchess and torrey out there because they're older "vets."

Imagine how frustrating that must have been for them?

Then these old guys like TD and Ryan Kalil have a "players only meeting" but again, the younger guys probably don't even get a say during the meeting.

It's a lose-lose situation all around when the younger core is more talented than the older vets.

Among others...

...Moose sez it is about the players...

...Kalil sez it is about the players...

...TD58 sez it is about the players...

...Gregger sez it's about the players...

...who are we to believe?

The players?

Or the keyboard jockeys?

I tend to believe the people who aren't trying to save their coach's ass.

You mean when we went 6-2?

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
