Coaching has failed Cam. Now is the time to get the surgery.

Yes Cam's shoulder is done. However, this coaching staff has done him no favors. They have put him in tough situations knowing that his shoulder isn't what it was. We abandon the run when we are close to the goal line for whatever reason. The last 2 calls in the red zone should've both been runs and even on the first throw, it was thrown in a good place away from the defender, but we don't have the WR to make that catch.

Norv hasn't called good red zone plays the last half of this season. Yeah Cam's throws haven't been ideal due to the shoulder, but why would Norv put him in those situations? Why does Rivera let Norv put him in those situations? Now is the time to just let Cam have the surgery and let him take whatever time he needs to heal.

Posters want to destroy Cam and bash him, but fail to realize he's the reason Rivera still has a job and that it was Rivera himself who has broken Cam's shoulder. No need to bash Cam. He's doing what he can with no help from his coaches.

fug Cam

You are exactly what I'm talking about.  This fanbase is pathetic. Without Cam, Rivera would've been without a job 5 years ago. Cam has put this team on his back ever since he was drafted and the coach who he has saved over and over again is the one who broke his shoulder. You should be saying "fug Rivera".

Can newton makes dumb mental mistakes that even well coached QBs in upper echelon HS don't make.

He's a poorly coached player brought about a timid HC who was too scares to hold h accountable.

I really don't think there's anything that can be done about it now and it maybe the for a total rebuild instead of just suffering along to middling records each season and depriving ourselves of the ability to truly build a super bowl roster.

lol @ these false accusations that are only said to feed an agenda. Clowns. Just clowns everywhere. MVP's don't do what is claimed. Cam wouldn't have been able to carry this team if he does what you say. QBs who have been rode by their head coaches so hard, they get broken do make mistakes. Rivera broke Cam in 2016 when he started him in meaningless games. With better play calling in the redzone these last few weeks and we most likely have a winning record. You can't see that we're in the redzone, especially today, and say that calling 2 passing plays is what we needed.

Arguing why cam is done is pointless right now the fact remains

moving forward with a new owner it’ll be interesting if we move on or see how he responds to another offseason and medical attention

 honestly good either way.

But a new coach is a must

It's almost been a decade with him; we should know what to expect and can all clearly see he's not 100%. This includes both running and passing.

We gave him nothing over the years, never coached him up and now we're sitting on our d*cks like a bunch of losers.  We are due for a major overhaul on every front. We've got some good youngbloods but we have a defensive coach who isn't producing a good defense, awful redzone offense and poor clock management for now 9 years. Tepper will be judged mightily by his upcoming moves/non-moves.

I rather have Cam last season than this season. His terrible games was clearly due to time off from surgery and lack of reps, but his shoulder held up through an entire season. The injury bug hit us and our WR's just sucked, but we still fought through it. Almost won a playoff game if Funchess could fuging see the ball in the air

But this year, I want to know if Cam shoulder was sore in offseason workouts and TC. If so, why wasn't it managed better? Nobody said its not normal for it to be this way? Did Cam just ignore it? His arm just started to wear down as we get to the end here. I think that purposeful helmet to his shoulder by Pittsburgh defender probably made it worse

Are you actually contending that completely imploding in a 1 minute offense is what MVPs do

    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
    • My top-5 JAGS: 1. Tommy Tremble: May not ever be top-tier, but has been solid and you never doubt the effort. 2. Cade Mays: Not bad for a 6th rounder. Hated to see him go. 3. Brady Christensen: One of the most versatile backup OLs in the NFL. Hopefully we re-sign him. 4. Trevis Gipson: Quietly was really solid depth last season. Glad we brought him back. 5. Brycen Tremayne: Has been solid depth at WR, flashing at times last year.
