Saints plan to approach Week 17 "like any other game"

Per Sean Payton, but he's not real specific as to what that means other than that they'll "try to win".

Saints plan to approach Week 17 like any other regular season game

Quote

Payton said that the team will approach the game like any regular season game and that they’ll try to win to end the year with a 14-2 record. As noted by multiple reporters on the Saints beat, however, Payton didn’t say that every starter was going to be part of that effort.

Payton could determine that backups could handle doing what’s needed to defeat a beaten-up Panthers team. If that’s the case, there’s a chance Teddy Bridgewater starts at quarterback for the first time since the 2015 season.

I can't imagine a scenario where our starters lose to their backups.

Considering we're probably going to to be playing a banged up backup at QB, I can.

I don't think we're going to to be going all out to win this one. As soon as it was clear that the Vikings were going to to win yesterday, some of our key starters got pulled.

Equally important question though...

This game is meaningless. Why should we play our starters?

It's meaningful as far as the draft is concerned, personal achievements, future employment tape for coaches and players, ratings: tv/radio/internet/printed word, and ticket sales. RR will play the starters imo. As a fan I would sit the starters for draft position.
