Eeehh, I don't know about that.

Personally, I'd probably be more impressed with "hey, I'm the offensive line coach for one of the best college football programs in the country" than I would "hi, I'm the guy who helps Dan Quinn know when to call time out".

I dont argue that the resume would be more impressive. Maybe GMs in the NFL think differently about that kind of thing than I do. I just know there are certain things people can do that guarantee I would never hire them again. What he did would be pretty high on that list. He did it publicly so everybody knows.

Funny you mention a guy becoming a head coach after fuging over an NFL team when that’s EXACTLY what Saban did to the Dolphins. I used to live in S Florida and have friends who’d still like to strangle Saban for his actions as head coach there.
