Can he play free safety?

And what exactly are we basing these opinions of Bradberry on?  interceptions? passes defended?  PFF grade? or the infamous "eye test" which is code for "I make a judgement on a player based off of a few terrible/great plays with no context with every other player in the league at that same position, also I don't actually watch said player unless he is directly involved with the ball"

I’ll go with the “eye test” every time. Especially with a player I’ve seen every snap of. Multiple times on many of them.

Why would someone need stats to evaluate a player you see every snap of? What group do you fall into?

And he would be a horrible candidate to convert to safety. Strength is press man coverage(when allowed to) with poor ball skills. For example, IMO, Josh Norman would be a perfect fit because his strength is reading and reacting to a QB. And very good ball skills with the ability to still cover most slots one on one if needed.

Is "#1 CB" the next mythical beast on the Huddle? The Huddle has already established that it pretty much takes a HOF lock to qualify as a "#1 WR".

You've got some folks who think if a corner isn't Deion Sanders or Champ Bailey, he isn't any good at all.

I actually find it pretty funny to see folks who knock James Bradberry talk like Donte Jackson is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Jackson has shown so far that he's a very good corner, but he's also proven to be a 'feast or famine' type that will give up nearly as many big plays as he makes.

Even the best of them gives up touchdowns and big plays. And frankly, the rules being what they are today, lockdown corners are going to be extremely hard to find.

Well, the architect of the 11 Safety defense is now part of the Redskins coaching staff, so maybe Norman will get a chance.

A turnover is huge in the outcome of a game.  Passes defended is good, but it doesn't get the defense off the field.  We desperately need more takeaways.

Bradberry is a little better than average.  Jackson has a higher ceiling but got burned waaay to much.  Hopefully he'll grow out of that.

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
