the season is over.... give moore the team!

i know fox won't do this because it seals his fate. but its time for hurney to separate himself from this spiral in the toilet. he has a chance to grab onto the rim and save himself but he must make a change soon. if he continues to follow the same course of action, he will permanently join himself at the hip of fox and delhomme.

give moore the team. allow him to develop the remainder of the season. we clearly no longer have a "best chance to win" at the QB position.

Yes. best to start thinking about next year. It would be a travesty to leave Jake in until like week 13 and Moore doesn't have a chance to settle in. Give moore the reins for the next 5 games and see if he might be the future. if not then start figuring out how to get a stud from FA or draft (yeah right)

Does Rip Scherer even watch the games? What out of this can he hang his hat on? Total collapse, failure?

I could see hiring the OC and QB coach from say, Indy or San Diego or something, but the Browns?!?

Way to pick a winner Marty! Delhomme wasn't this bad last year and it seems like there is nobody to guide him out of this.

There were too many passes called for Jake yesterday. He is not an asset anymore more of a handicap. Start Moore now!!!

Season is never over. You never know what might happen. Moore might come in and be Joe Montana II or he could be Chris Weinke. But we still can make the playoffs and if we lose more then we just build for next year.

yeah, we could still have a good season with moore. i guess what i mean is, he's not going to go on a 10-0 tear to finish 12-4 and the saints surely aren't going to finish with less than 11 or 12 wins so it's pretty much a given that the wild card is not possible even if moore does come in and go 6-4 which would be terriffic! we'd still be 8-8 and out of the playoffs. so pretty much, from a playoffs point of view, the season is over. use the rest of it to develop moore and our recievers and see what they have to offer. if nothing else, it lets us know what we need to do in the off season. to prep for next year's draft and FA.

Football coaches don't consider the season over until the last game is done unless you are in total rebuilding mode. We are not. With better quarterback and special teams play we can be in every game we play. I don't know whether we wil win or lose but we will be in the game.

The season has 10 more games before it over. Until then Fox and Hurney will do everything they can to win as much as they can. As they should.

we went 12-4 last year...there is still the chance we go 12-4 this year...

dont think so negatively. we all know we should of won sunday. things just worked out for the other guy...(Thanks to turnovers) honestly....this one doesnt go on jake, he SUCKS dont get me wrong, but if not for the punt muff, we woulda had it.

if you seriously think we still have a shot at going 12-0 the rest of the way after what you have seen so far this season then there will be a lot of "we should have won" sundays for you over the next couple of months.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
