When you fail a drug test at the Combine, you failed an IQ test. Look, I'll be the first one to stand up and say it's bullshit that NFL players get suspended for testing positive for marijuana but it is what it is. They know the rules. If they don't like it, then make it known to the NFLPA to make it a priority to address that in the next CBA. It's one of those things that should be fairly easy to workout since it benefits both sides. I'm sure the owners will want some concession at the bargaining table but it shouldn't be much of one as I'm sure they'd like to not lose players' availability over stupid poo

Except that Welker was suspended due to Adderall and not MDMA and Adderall is still on the banned substance list (so is MDMA for that matter).

They basically would have had to take MDMA the night before or the day of the game. It doesn’t stay any the system past 1-3 days and 1 if you are active.

Hell, that's the case for most recreational drugs. Recreational drug tests are basically marijuana tests unless you're really unlucky or have a serious substance issue.

He is the perfect Cowboy's player. It's a stupid rule but avoidable for 10 years if you want to have fun making a lot of money. I really hope the NFLPA makes this a priority to get rid of, its past time for it to go the way of the dinosaurs.

NFL rules being what they are, a lot of suspensions for drug use are essentially suspensions for being a numbskull.

I watched an Arian Foster podcast regarding weed and turns out the players all know when they’re going to be tested.  It’s a three month period for training camp and OTAs where they give you one random test I believe, and if you’re clean you’re good for the rest of the season.  Players who fail are just idiots
