Wth is going on with him. One of the best LB in today’s game. Very underrated. Wanted the man when he came out of FSU

One of only 13 players in NFL history to record 100+ tackles in each of their first 5 seasons.

Also the only player with at least:

  • 100 tackles
  • 2 INTs
  • 1 fumble recovery in EACH of the last 3 seasons.

Only 15 other players have done that in even ONE of the last three seasons

Suh, Wilkerson, and Collins are very talented and very lazy and still unemployed.

I know each would be a bad example to young ones, but all of them fit a hybrid 3-4 defense.

I'd be intrigued with Wilkerson. Took a 1 yr 5M deal last year in GB and then got hurt early on. I'd be willing to bet he could be had for a little above vet min.

9 hours after the GM was fired, and HC Gase took over interim GM duties.....

Lee has been absolutely terrible. Like one of the worst LBs in the league type terrible. I'm surprised they were even able to get a 6th.

Over all, yes.  But to be fair, last year he was playing very well until his suspension.

3 INT (one for a pick 6), 72.4 PFF (24th LB).  On pace for about 100 tackles.  He was very good at coverage, but bad against the run.  He was small for a MLB.  6'1, and like 215 lbs.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
