If there was a great once-in-a-generation talented QB that fell to the 16th pick, sure.  Go for it.

 

Unfortunately there are no great QBs available in this draft, anywhere.

Honestly, I wouldn't. Not because I don't think he's worth it as a football player but because if he's a 3rd round pick he'll be playing baseball instead. He'd be leaving way too much money on the table.

Are we sure he wouldn't see the field? I hate to think it but it's likely Cam has a couple years left. Following 2 shoulder surgeries, we need to face the likelihood that Cam could be done in Carolina sooner rather than later. If you think Cam is absolutely 100% and will be for a few years, move past him, if he isn't, it's something you have to consider.

Yep. Because regards of Cam's health, I think he's playing baseball if he isn't a top 5 pick. Last year, the #16 pick got $12.8M with less than $7.5M guaranteed. MLB pays ball boys more than that.

That said, possibly, but it goes against everything in my to say so.

Size and games started in college scare me.  As does the back and forth a bit on the baseball/football...not working out at all at the combine...etc....

That said in his short time he showed great accuracy and is obviously a threat both on the ground and in the air.

At the end of the 1st, and maybe if Cam were a little older....I probably would.  This year....unless I knew more about Cam shoulder than what the team is letting one?  Probably not.

If Cam was 35+ and I thought Murray was committed to football, I'd absolutely take him at #16. However, if the latter is true there's no way he's available at #16. If he's still there at that point, NFL teams think he's playing baseball.

If Cam were older, sure I would certainly lean more toward drafting him...I just think at that size, and his ability to run likely means a pretty banged up first few years in the league.

I still think I would pull the trigger at 16 though is Cam were older, but I would certainly listen to the calls first.
