And I’m not dismissing him at all. 3/4th round doesn’t mean he’s bad. I don’t think we should be look at any rb before then. But I was measuring him on a scale of first rounders cmc, Elliot and so on.

I still think a goaline back would be a good investment. Do we really wanna see 2-3 straight runs up the gut with cmc.. not his strong point

It isn't the same staff. Norv runs the offense and has been here one year. So the question really is why don't you know that ?

We absolutely we need to find a cheap backup for CMC. Montgomery is one of my favorite RBs for what he brings and the value of his draft position. I think he’s exactly what we need to compliment CMC.

I'd be OK with spending a 4th rounder on him, but not a 2nd.

Myles Gaskins IMO is the perfect compliment for Cmac ....

Montgomery is a great player but Gaskins....even his movements are Mccaffrey-like. Not a powerback but he has more speed and he's just as shifty. If his game translates, we wouldn't have to alter anything in the playbook.

This draft has enough talent at some of our positions of need that we should be looking for starters or at least players that will considerable snaps.

Whether we draft a power back to compliment or a similar back to CMC to back him up I really doubt they would get considerable playing time.  Seems like a poor use of resources considering the needs on this team.  Draft a guy in the 5th or later or go with CAP for another year.

if CMC is going to be such a central piece of the O I almost prefer investing in a CMC vol 2. instead of a "compliment".  That way he gets rest and we still run what we run. 

Cam creates problems though.  I mean, if Cam is healthy, we already have the best short yardage option in the NFL IMO.  If Cam isn't healthy then obviously we need that bigger body
