due to us goint 4-3 for so long I do not pay attention to much 3-4 defense. whats the prototypical 3 down linemen in this scheme, is Poe our NT and does KK fit an edge?

Poe as NT, KK as end. Other end is more question mark. Maybe Cox Jr.

Kk would be an end. Poe is nose. Irvin, Addison, Burns are OLB. Shaq is in the middle with Luke.

yeah I guess we can experiment with some of our DEs that have been floating. just wonder how Luke would do in this system. Maybe he wont feel the need to play at 120% and risk so much injury.

i love the thought of those three rotating to stay fresh. could even put 1 down linemen from time to time

thats what I think. I would like to just have one scheme moving forward regardless.

So it is easier to figure out and more predictable??? Gee maybe we shift things around to make sure our opponents can't do the same thing.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
