Cute response, but it's not really based upon any quantifiable body of work.

Neither is expecting him to suddenly develop in to a starting caliber FS. Or NCB? Or whichever he’s playing this week?

Unless a year behind Colin Jones on the depth chart is a “body of work?

I will literally agreeing with you and you still want to try to argue. Jesus Christ, man. You are one miserable SOB.

Actually I didn't argue just pointed out where I disagree with your DB comments saying if you don't draft them high what do you expect. I did agree with your analysis about the WRs.

And if I am a miserable SOB then you are a foul-mouthed ignorant A hole.

I hope you feel better. Now that you threw your temper tantrum you can back to playing video games. Don't stay up late you know you still have school tomorrow.

He lacks the physical tools. Guy graded in the bottom 2% when he was drafted

and yes at the pro level those things do matter. Players are bigger. Stronger. Faster in the league.

This is my concern. I'm not a big workout numbers geek, but he tested out really poorly. To me, the workout numbers only really matter when they're outliers or significantly different than expected based on watching a guy play. His numbers were definitely an outlier and in the worst of ways.

"Average" seems to always be our best case scenario at FS and we usually come up well short of that.

Tbh we should be lucky to get just "average" with the way we under value that position. Not saying we got to sign big money free agents but it would be great if we valued Safeties in particular higher during the draft more.

I agree. Even when we do spend a decent draft pick on a "safety" it seems like it's always on a slow CB that we're going to try to convert. I don't think we've taken a true safety in the first three rounds of the draft since taking Deon Grant in the 2nd way back in 2000.

The game isn't played running around cones, lifting weights, or doing 40 yard dashes. It is played between the hashes in one on one matchups that vary from week to week. Obviously speed and strength matter. But the muscle most important to a free safety is between his ears. Because you see the play unfold in front of you you can anticipate what they are doing and how to respond. So he ran a 4.6 40. If it were 4.4 everyone would be ecstatic. A blink of an eye, a step.  If it was 4.49 we would be talking the next Derwin James or a 4.47 he would be the next Earl Thomas. He isn't. Otherwise his game is physical, aggressive and with attitude. He wasn't paying attention to Colin Jones he was watching Eric Reid and was impressed how he came off the couch and played at such a high level. I hope he does well. If he can be serviceable having him and Reid at safety will be the reincarnation of the bruise brothers. If he struggles we will bring someone in along the way like we did with Reid.

Lol! I loved Deon Grant(on madden)but i look at a what the Falcons got when they drafted Keanu Neal. Tbh i thought they reached hard but he has turned out to be a decent to above average safety and i wonder why our guys can find something like that. Heck anyone other than Butler who we took in that draft would be better lol. Just checked and saw we also missed on Kevin Byard by two picks when we took Bradberry.

I like Bradberry just fine, so I'm not complaining about that pick.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
