Panthers coach Ron Rivera says ideally he would like to get three to four series out of quarterback Cam Newton on Thursday at New England. Newton hasn't played in the first two preseason games. Kyle Allen will be up second.

Today was a glorified walkthrough for the Panthers ahead of Thursday’s preseason game at New England. But I will say that under the radar running back Reggie Bonnafon stood out several times on special teams, drawing praise from coordinator Chase Blackburn.
