NFL signs agreement with NFLRA

Doesn't sound like full time officials are gonna be hitting the field anytime soon.

The story does say though that the new agreement makes it easier to fire officials for poor performance.

From what I've seen so far, that could be worse than the current situation as we'd be seeing new refs every fugging weekend.

Fair point.

I'm a big proponent of having full time officials but I kinda doubt the referees union is ever going to allow that to happen and the NFL doesn't seem willing to force it.

I like the idea of accountability, though. I'm not banking on it happening, but it would be nice to see some.

The problem I have is that as biased as the current batch of refs are, either for/against certain teams/players or towards/against home teams (talking hochuli and his ilk here), I think those reviewing them will also be prone to those biases.

Stuff is too open to interpretation, which it shouldn't be.

Don’t understand how it’s gotten so bad. Or maybe it’s always been like this but now with all the technology we have it’s easier to highlight their screw-ups.

Would not mind seeing the Aints getting fugged again

I didn't really notice until the replacements came in and were obviously horrible. I kept waiting for the day that the real ones came back expecting it would be better.

In the world of it could be worse, it could really be worse. And it once was. And it was once even worse than that, we just didn't realize it.

I really think it is getting better, but we now have sooo many angles, so many nuances in the game that it's nearly impossible for any human to correctly call a game.

Well to be fair, at least with the regular refs none of our division games were being officiated by rival fans.
