So are we hiring Sean McVae next? When the Rams tank he’s gone.

And again

Their starting LT Whitworth

Their starting DT Brockers

Their other starting CB Talib

Dante Fowler

Are all also hitting FA this offseason

Yes.

There are two enormous factors that mean Cam's value would not be worth Ramsey's in trade.

1. Age

2. Injury history.

No one is likely to give up multiple first rounders for a 30 year old with an injury history like Cam's. You're welcome to fantasize about the notion someone would, but dont' expect it to actually happen.

I think you're not thinking outside the box. Ramsey playing arguably the third or fourth most important position in football Garnered 2 first rounders.

Like it or not Cam is and will always be a franchise QB. That Trumps any injury. Which his, as of now, have been taken care of. The market value for Cam would be as good if not better than Ramsey's. It's not even a fantasy, people are over paying for average QBs. Cam is not average and to be honest in a league of his own.

No I don't want to trade Cam. But if it done then so be it. I just hope it's not for just one first round pick. That would be a bit foolish.

Side Note: In other league news, Alvin Kamara is being reported as having a "high ankle type issue"

Love the phrasing. It's like when someone ask a coach about a leg injury and they say "He's got a knee."

I always wish some smartass would respond, "Yeah he does. Two of em, in fact."

Look I would be thrilled for you to be right about this, I just don't think it's realistic. Partly that's because of an unspoken assumption about the circumstances under which he would be traded. I think there is almost no chance the team attempts to trade him without playing him further. That would be truly foolish. I also don't think if he comes back and plays well the team is interested in trading him, because here's what happens at that point: you have to keep playing him and you dont get any further chance to evaluate Allen. It's a highly defensible thing if the team is continuing to win and making a push for the playoffs, but in that scenario what you would never do is trade away your franchise qb who has overcome injury to play well on the expectation his backup with all of 5 games NFL experience will turn out to be the better long term option.

This means I'm assuming the only scenario in which Cam would possibly be traded is if he comes back from injury and does not play well. Let's say he comes back and plays a handful of games and we lose most of them and fall to a point where we're no longer in playoff contention. That's the scenario I think you have to have in order for their realisticly to be any real willingness to trade him on the part of our FO. Under those circumstances, his most recent play will devalue what he will bring on the open market. That's why I say I don't think we'd ever get 2 first rounders for him. Now if he plays bad and we're willing to deal him and some team wants to mortgage their future, I'd be giddy if we got 2 first rounders.

What I would vastly prefer is for Cam to come back and play well. In that scenario I don't think there's any chance we trade him.

Saw that too

Said he plans to play this week.  But high ankle sprains typically have guys out atleast 2 weeks, do they not?

So kinda odd.  So his injury is exaggerated, plays no where near 80%

So the Rams traded away Marcus Peters too?

Yeah.

Peter's was a bit of a head case. I remember that whole flag throwing thing back when he was with the Chiefs.

Granted, he probably doesn't hold a candle to Ramsey on that front.

High ankle sprains generally take 4-6 weeks to heal

Hmm kinda odd that they say he will play this week.  If truely has a high ankle sprain he ain't playing.  Their next 4 games @bears, Cardinals, Falcons, @Tampa

rams need o-line so they trade for a corner.   sounds right.

They need a CB badly too

Talib and Peters have been Terrible this year

Look at 2 of their last 3 games.  They really struggled vs Seattle  (Wilson 4 TDs) and Tampa (Winston 385 yards and 4 TDs)
