LaCanfora: Newton could miss "multiple games"

Cardio conditioning for someone with an injured foot is no easy task (heck he was barely practicing before).

Needing time to get a guy back into "football shape" is a perfectly reasonable thing.

I can assure you that teams aren't overly concerned about their franchise quarterback's cardio regimen as an obstacle to having him on the field

This is about making Cam's road to recovery look as lengthy and as vague as possible so Ron Rivera doesn't have to answer questions about a QB controversy in press conferences for as long as possible.

If Allen implodes, I assure you that rhetoric over Cam needing "cardio" suddenly won't be a talking point.

If he's rushed back and gets hurt worse, that's a disaster.

Said it as soon as I saw the hit "looks like lisfranc"....again not exactly sure how bad it was, or if I had the same injury...but that was what Antonio Gates' had and was diagnosed with, and I had that same injury.

Let me tell you....it hurts....and for a long time.  It would seemingly go away, and as soon as I broke into a run it's right back.  It probably took 2 years before it was completely gone.

Now, Cam has much better healthcare than I can ever imagine to be able to get, and they know exactly what they are doing, but for a QB that likes to run, that injury sucks.

Here's to hoping that he can come back close to 100 % and go on a run.  This 4 game win streak has been almost an impossibility to imagine before it started.  Unfortunately, the Saints have been on the same run.  Can't catch a break.

sure but that has nothing to do with "cardio" being used as a veil of ambiguity in the hopes that the situation will resolve itself

Cardio is only part of the equation.

The bottom line is you can't rush him back before he's ready.

The phrase "I did not see that coming" doesn't even begin to describe this season.

This place will implode regardless of when Cam returns...

it seems like there are 2 people who are actively rooting for kyle to fall flat, and 2 people actively rooting for cam to fall flat.   there seem to be a lot of people thinking when/if cam gets inserted there are a lot of us that won't be rooting for the team to succeed.     that's the part that's so weird.  pretty sure 99.8% of everyone here is going to be cheering for the team to win no matter who plays.
