Cam to see foot specialist

This saga has taken so many turns I have chosen not to lean one way or another until we hear something official.  The one constant has been Ron doesn't know anything.  Which I'm sure he has purposefully kept himself in the dark so he doesn't put his foot in his mouth.  He has never been great at addressing injuries with the media hence why he meets with the trainer AFTER the post-game press conferences.  Oh well, hope the next piece of news we get on the Cam front is good news...

From the article...

“I spent a long time speaking with Cam this week and he’s done everything he possibly can in his rehab process to get his foot to 100 percent,” general manager Marty Hurney said. “Unfortunately, we haven’t reached that point. The next step is for him to go see Dr. Anderson and gather more information.”

That...does not sound good.

If you peel apart Josina’s tweet, and that’s what we are left with at this point, here’s what I take away from it:

*Cam Newton was seen in Chicago.

*The source spotted him on a plane.

*No mention of a boot.

*No mention of him walking through the airport.

All valid, but the word we just got from the Panthers makes it sound pretty much like Rapoport was correct.

Ron’s built in excuse for this years failure

I’ll ask the question again, what was this nit the first doctor he saw vs, the hacks in Charlotte. Panthers team doctors nit the best

We should honestly start Will Grier and get a good measure of his ability.   It's very unlikely we make the playoffs, and even if we do, we're not going deep.

Otherwise you end the season, and might have to spend a first round pick on a quarterback without ever knowing if Grier can play.

Kyle Allen was a good option as a placeholder so Cam could come back and make some noise in the playoffs, but now we have to explore future options.

If Cam is on the shelf?

you continue to play Kyle Allen and try to make the postseason. Simple as that.  Because Carolina is 5-1 with him and Ron and the entire team want to win games.

If we are out of it? Well, Ron should then take a look at what Grier can do. But he is only going to do that if he knows he will be back as the HC

Would you say the same about a concussion if there wasn't a protocol? It's not the players responsibility to self-diagnose and you should assume they'll do exactly what Cam did. They're all to blame but the coach and medical staff get the larger share because they're the authorities making the decisions.

There are tests they run that diagnose concussions. They x-rayed Cam's foot and it came back negative.

remember when hurney did the exact same thing with Jake?

I remember a blissful time winning 3 division titles in a row, playoffs becoming almost normal...then a dark cloud returned to Charlotte.  A raspy, whiskey stained basehead promoted through the old system of who you know and not what you know that we pretend doesn't happen.  A douche stain so epically awful his mere presence is an affront to the senses.

How did Hurney get back in the building?  Again, thanks for the 1st rounder, but you're a plague on our house and must be burned.  Its the only way.  Burn him.  Or fire him, that works too.

Two most key words in that statement: "long time".
