Good coaches lead teams to consistency in winning seasons and playoff chances.........

Bad coaches are fortunate with the help good players to capture a post season crown or two amongst mostly losing seasons.......

Now think........... does Ron fit in one of those?

we were the best out of 4 teams 3 times in a row, holy cow, lets just anoint him coach for life.   it looks a lot worse bragging about the 7-8-1 season while we're watching philly and dallas fight it out in that shiteshow of a division. who on earth would brag about that.

making the playoffs and winning a playoff game when your HC's house burned down and your QB got into a car crash in the same season is pretty impressive id say, but to each their own

wait, i thought the qb burned his house down after a car crashed into it.     the thing that has impressed me most about rivera is his ability to squander talent, keep talent on the bench, and ruin talent.   he's very consistent with those.

i know right, his 70-47-1 record prior to cam getting hurt is so horrible. he truly kills everything he touches, keeping this team together through pure disaster and still managing a playoff win? what a horrible coach! he's been garbage his whole time here. send him to the guillotine!

ok mrs rivera.   you'll have a new team soon enough and you can watch him soar to mediocrity again.  he is a good man evidently, and you can always be proud of that.  maybe work on him taking accountability and not deflecting it 99% of the time and he'll do a better job next time.

I watched his press conference and noticed he gave credit for those three seasons to him .  It was Cam , the team. and two coaches who left for head coaching jobs that should be given credit also for those years .  McDermit has turned his team around with Beane as Gm .  We should have fired Ron then and kept those two .

Well you ain’t wrong. Y’all criticize the players that leave here for being bitter, but Ron doesn’t seem to understand why he was fired. He truly doesn’t believe he was mediocre. What’s worse is that the national media thinks so lowly of this franchise that they believe we should be thankful for the mediocrity.

well said

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
