As a coach, how do you fire your team up over spanking the ass of 2nd string players?  Are they that gullible?  And how did the ass spanking transfer into good this season?

It didn't translate at all. Very disappointing for sure. All the more reason I will take any kind of victory at all. I can't be all that picky.

On average picking earlier yields better players, another fact. If a team wants to move up form the 30s, #9 will bring more value than #16 another fact. No problem here, you are free to think winning is correct. I thought with this team in the gutter, winning these last two games would help you to understand its faults.

Averages don't select players, GMs do. And after the third round the success in even finding depth players is pretty low. So honestly a few picks here and there isn't that big a deal. After all you get 53 players a year and not many retire so you are usually looking for a couple of impact guys. A starter or two and some depth. Hence the reason Gettleman always traded picks to move up figuring a 5th or 6th rounder rarely made the final 53. But this will be rehashed ad nauseum over the next month or so. I want to win every week. This is no exception. Screw the draft pick.

I love Simmons as a prospect but I think he's a LB in the NFL and gives you more value there. Could always be mistaken though. I just think we'd have to move shaq or Luke to make room for him.

And I'm open minded. I don't totally mind the idea of trading Kuechly if we get a Tunsil or Jalen Ramsey haul for him. Then drafting Simmons seems like a slam dunk, plus maybe a draft pick that can get us a fs or corner

Well, at this point, the 8th and 9th pick from last years draft are not setting the world on fire anyway, so dropping down might not have hurt us so much, at least not in the 1st round.  After that is where you make your money as a GM and moving up 8 spots or so in subsequent rounds might have done us some good

Hypothetical:

We sit at 8, Chargers at 9

Miami picks 4th and Burrow is gone, they don't want to reach on Tua or Hebert, so they take BPA, an OT.

All three of the top OT's are gone when our pick rolls around, but Hebert is there.  Miami now wants our pick and offers the 22nd and 23rd in the 1st round for our spot.

What is your decision?

Does Kuechly have the injury concerns that Beason had at that time?

No.  Not even a little bit.  And I love these "heady fans" ready to dump Luke after 8 seasons.  8.  Drafted in '12 still crushing at a GOAT level but some snarky interweebs said he's washed.  I cant help Hurney spent 50 Large on Shaq, but when you speak Luke's name you best put some respect on it.

According to spotrac we have 33 million dollars in cap space after the Shaq Thompson signing. Also we will likely cut Gano, Moncrief and Davis to free up some more. We should easily be able to afford to resign McCoy and Bradberry correct?

We already cut Moncrief.

You take Tua or Herbert. Unless the Dolphins want add 2020 2nd and 2021 2nd

    • You do, the guy who doesn’t appear to grasp projection.  as the entire board knows, I do in fact, take positions.  The position here I have taken is that Bryce Young is a weak bottom tier starting QB, without NFL starting QB tools, that we must move on from.
    • The OP for one. Asserting that people blamed Bryce for the loss in the title of the thread. That was not the prevailing sentiment at the time this thread was created. Very much a minority thing, I don’t remember but maybe one person if that, putting it on Bryce as the main reason. Troll thread. Did a good job too. Look at the pages.  Someone counting up the draft picks as 10 on offense and 10 on defense or whatever the number was, today or yesterday - of which the offensive ones were heavily 1s and 2s and the defensive picks were heavily day 3 and declaring that proof that the offense wasn’t favored like people claim. The obvious neglect we watched for two years. I spent time refuting that bullshit because someone needed to.  People saying we are bad horrible people and hate poor lil Bryce for no reason, as if it is a personal thing. Constantly.   Along the same lines is people saying we non Bryce fans would rather lose than have him play well and the team wins. That we are mad when the team wins   Point illustrated.
