CMC getting closer to 1000-1000

We had this talk last season and it didn’t happen.  Now, we are at it again this season. Really hoping that it’ll finally happen. CMC needs 186 total receiving yards in the next two games and he’ll be only the 3rd player to do it with Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk. The crazy thing is, CMC is doing it with an undrafted backup QB Kyle Allen. CMC is a friggin monster.

As far as I'm concerned this should be the goal of this team. He's openly talked about wanting it, and he deserves it. Give this team, this fanbase, something, anything, to remember this season favorably for. Last season we had the Graham Cannon kick and the comeback in Philly. We have nothing now. It's been a nightmare. Give us something.

If there's any commitment at all to him at Indy, he's going to put a massive dent into it. AFC teams have traditionally had no idea how to handle him.

Also, he had exactly 175 yards yesterday. I believe it was posted after like the first 5 games that he had had 4, and that the record most 175 yard games in a season was 6. The team clearly wasn't  cognizant of it because he came obscenely close multiple times, and because norv was trying to turn Kyle Allen into a fantasy superstar.

But I think he's got 5 total now with two games to go.

fuging agreed . Pretty much the only thing that matters since the season is cooked

matters for what?  it doesn't matter at all.   so what?   we're 5-9, that's all that matters.  is this about fantasy football? honest ?.    i don't get it.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the chasing meaningless records in a losing season thing after all the talk we've had to endure the last several months about those "player only" fans.

Have to say I doubt it would have gone over well if people were talking about Newton chasing records being the team goal in a losing season.

First, I'm a team first guy, and I would prefer to sit CMC, it's the "smart" thing to do.  However, we are dealing with humans here.

My response to your post would be, were you willing to force Cam to sit meaningless games when we were eliminated from the playoffs in seasons past to protect him?

Isn't us refusing to do so even as recently as last year when he was clearly injured why we are in this current predicament?

Obviously knowing what we know now, I would say yes sit him, especially since he's a vet.

    • Thats a weird take, we had no chance at keeping Kobe
    • "by name"?  You mean they are letting him say he is retiring or stepping down? That's even more embarrassing than being fired (he basically quit) and so transparently false that the media will kill him and this university.  If this happens, I may just turn full fledge to an SMU fan since I live in Dallas now. I'm just about sick of this university's approach to basketball and football.
