Hard to see both the Chargers and Broncos passing on a QB.

uh why would the broncos draft a QB? Even on the mock draft piece it says "Drew Lock has shown promise and Denver would be wise to build around him now that he is healthy."

Aside from this weekend (weather was poo, even mahomes put up pedestrian numbers)  Lock has looked like he can be a good qb.

What? Draft another QB so he can get murdered behind this sh*t o-line too? It doesn't matter who we draft, if we can't protect him it's a moot point. Build that O-line first. Besides, I think I would take my chances on a former MVP who's still only 30 years old than wasting a top 10 pick on a overrated PAC 12 QB.

We can draft Herbert and rebuild the o-line through FA and 2nd and later picks.

I don’t understand Panthers fans wanting to rebuild the OL so bad. Little was a high 2nd round pick and will be handed the LT job next season. Moton and Trai are the answer on the right side. Paradis will be here bc of his contract. LG is the only position that needs to be filled bc Van Roten is a free agent.

When an organization gets gutted, recent draft picks who haven't proven much rarely get handed anything.

Herbert has the best arm out of all the QBs in this draft.

So did Jamarcus Russell. So did Ryan Leaf. So did Kyle Boller. So did Jim Druckenmiller.

Great arm talent gets quarterbacks overdrafted more than any other single attribute. Arm talent for QBs is the 40 time of WRs and DBs.

Saw him struggle against some PAC12 defenses... Not to mention when he played Auburn (an actual defense) he looked meh. He has the arm and height but I am not sure about mental and leadership. I could see him doing good on a team not missing many pieces like a solid offensive line and several weapons for him, but I don’t think he is a guy who can carry a team and make everyone around him better.

Little hasn’t proved anything? Really? When healthy, Little looks pretty damn good. Especially being a rookie. Health is the concern, not his plays.

Kid has upside. Grier had a sissy arm coming out of college. And all of a sudden, Panthers fans now somehow think he has an arm. Just watch and see Sunday. He’ll stink. Herbert would change the direction of this franchise big time. Dummy

You can't even handle the slightest of disagreements can you? You start slinging poo and get all pissy. LOL!

I wanted nothing to do with drafting Will Grier, but what's done is done and we know by now that Kyle Allen certainly isn't the answer so we might as well get a look at Grier in live action.

As far as Herbert goes... Herbert's college coaches don't even trust him. They do all they can to get the ball out of his hands coming down the stretch in close games. Why?

In terms of his actual play, he pretty much just stares down his #1 read on every passing play. Virtually every passing play is a half field read. From an NFL perspective, he's going to come in very raw as a passer.

He padded his stats against the likes of Arizona's #121 ranked defense (20-28 for 333 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT), an FCS Montana team (30-42 for 316 yards and 5 TDs), Nevada's #73 defense (19-26 for 310 and 5 TDs), USC's #83 defense (21-26 for 225 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT), and Stanford's #95 defense (19-24 for 259 yards and 3 TDs).

He only played two top 20 defenses. They lost to Auburn and he was solid but unspectacular. If you watched the game, he just dinked and dunked all game long. Oregon got up pretty big early but Auburn came roaring back. After Oregon's initial drive of the 2nd half, Herbert wouldn't complete another pass over 10 yards for the rest of the game and Oregon would only gain about 50 more yards. Once they got dialed in, Auburn just locked them down.

Utah was the lone elite defense he faced and his coaches pretty much kept the ball out of his hands. They dialed up 41 rushing plays vs. only 26 passes. Herbert was 14-26 with 1 TD. They won the game, but they would've won that game with pretty much any legit D1 QB taking the snaps. They won it with their rushing attack. To be fair, Herbert did have 7 of those carries... for a total of 20 yards.

Oregon's 12 FBS opponents combined for a #74 ranked average defense. Take out Auburn and Utah, and the average for the remaining 10 drops to #86. Keep in mind, there are 130 FBS teams.

The one shining star for Herbert IMO is the Washington game. They're a decent defense. Not great, but decent. #39 nationally and he was superb. 24-38 for 280 yards and 4 TDs. Oh wait... they're #39 overall, but they're #64 against the pass.

Herbert has all the physical tools to be a great NFL QB, but throughout his college career there just isn't a single game to point to against a top caliber defense where he shined and looked like a guy who will be a franchise NFL QB. Meanwhile, he got straight rocked by a below average PAC-12 team and #114 ranked passing D in Arizona State. By and large, he's feasted on terrible defenses and been meh against good defenses. The worst defenses he'll face in the NFL will be better than those good defenses he was meh against in college.

He appeared in 4 games. He looked decent in a couple of them. He looked pretty bad in a couple of them. If you're ready to pencil that guy in at LT for the next decade based on that you're insane.
