I bet you know all about “mediocre” and “bottom of the barrel” so I’ll defer to your expert opinion.

And you’re the one bringing up previous playoff records like they have any impact on this year. I’m talking about what team can run the ball and stop the run THIS YEAR which will have an impact in these upcoming playoff games.

I'm talking about past performances by your choking team. Something that never seems to change, the road choking.

We choked at home the first couple of times we made the playoffs under Mora, that eventually changed. Who’s to say the road record won’t improve?

Apple was expected to be out after he went down last week so with Janoris Jenkins manning that spot, I’m anticipating a lot of man coverage considering his limited knowledge of the playbook.

Bell has been out the last few weeks and Gardner-Johnson (one of our rookies) has been playing exceptional ball in his absence so keep an eye out for #22.

Williams being out is the one that throws a wrench in the plan. I’m wondering what we’ll do to mitigate that. I’m wondering if they might possibly move Gardner-Johnson to FS and have another young guy (J.T. Gray) who’s a standout special teamer play at SS.

Possibly having Peat and Warford back is huge, but I’d honestly rather have them both sit this week (they both were out last week) and be fully healthy for the playoffs.

I mean, you really want to expand beyond Sean Payton? Okay.

The Saints are 1-7 all-time in road playoff games.

That better?

What I’m saying is our home playoff record went from 1-3 to 7-4. Who’s to say the road playoff record can’t do the same?

The last 4 road playoff games were decided by one possession, 3 of those 4 were by 5 points or less. It happens.

and he punched the ground and had to have surgery, and then got hurt again, and can't play the run.  maybe he will be able to.  we'll see.   i don't think anyone can say it was a home run pick yet, not by any means. marty took a project in the first round.   we'll see if he ever fits in

Punching the crowd and getting himself hurt doesn't take away the fact that he was productive when the coaches played him. We also knew he wasn't going to be as strong vs the run as he was vs the pass. It was far from a home run pick, but all players are projects when they come out. First rounders are typically players that can contribute right away, and since we wanted him to get to the QB he did that.

Hopefully we have a staff that doesn't shove him into the dog house next season and only allows him to act as a gunner

I think the idea is more weather related. A dome team like New Orleans probably doesn't want to play outside, possibly in the snow, in January.

You could argue that the key players (Thomas, Ohio State; Brees Purdue) have past experience in the cold where they performed at a high level.

    • Im not firm on many things football, but this statement or belief or strategy I am 100% for. Full Offseason the goal is to make the playoffs. Week 1, 1000% I want to win. Weeks 2-10,  1000% I want to win. Until the math stats 0.000000000% chance at NO playoffs, I want to win. *Once* there's no chance at the playoffs, I want to 100% lose every game until the end. You are still loser at 2-15 or 5-12, I want to never lose like this again. I want the best value for losing and suffering. Again the only goal is playoffs. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, I want to win the whole dam show. If you happen to lose in the first round, that's perfectly fine and lets work hard this upcoming off-season to get another chance to make them.  This is the ONLY way to play in the NFL. Anyone not understanding this method of strategy, please call your doctor for a visit...
    • Purdy's good but at the end of the day you're paying first class money for a business class seat.  It's a big problem with the salary cap.  QBs take most of it whether they are Pat Mahomes or not.
    • Purdy saved the 49ers from that three 1st picks for Trey Lance. People forget that. People also forget he should have MVP votes for the 23 season. He's been any where from the 8th(his best/23) to 14th ranked QB, he's legit and guys around top 10 get paid as QBs.....guys in 28th get paid too, he's 4x the QB Trevor Lawrence is and better than BY by miles as well...even without CMC, Samuel(whos a RB playing WE), and half the OL.    *BUT*    You non-believers missed this ultra important mistake that honestly made me reconsider all the praise I gave him. https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/49ers-qb-brock-purdy-throws-blind-40-percent   That's is damming to my case and reset my thinking of his. That's nuclear scary now and I need some time.  too honest for me to overlook.
