Ron will have every opportunity to win the NFC east next year. Good hire for the skins.

Im a little worried that Ron actually wasnt the problem here.

Unless Haskins makes a jump that no one could objectively see right now, they are clearly the worst team based on their QB situation alone

Ron was a problem, but he wasn't alone.

Unfortunately, the other half of the problem is still around for the moment.

So the Redskins are prepared to make him an offer while saying Snyder has yet to talk to the guy they're hiring. This will be their first meeting.

Sure it is :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

Well this makes me respect Tepper more and Rivera less.

Come on Ron, you can't act all butthurt about being let go early when Tepper tried to respect you by not going behind your back but yet you have no problem interviewing with Synder secretly

What goes around, comes around...

That organization has done $hitty things to basically everyone that has come through.

This isnt a good omen in my opinion. 3 years from now Ron will be wishing for an upfront guy like Tepper when Synder is interviewing his replacement behind his back

Assuming Ron gets a 4-year deal he probably will have will have banked $65,000,000 in a 5-year time-frame....

....I doubt he will give a flip about anything Snyder does at that point.

Kinda funny to revisit some of the quotes from when Rowboat was extended:

"I'm very excited about it because I really like where we are as a football team," Rivera said in a statement. "We've done some really good things and we have an opportunity to do more. Things are in place and we can continue this success. We've had consistency of winning and we've gone to the playoffs four out of five years."

(team went 12-20 over next 2 seasons)

In the unlikely scenario anyone needed more reason to completely discount everything the doltish Ian Rapoport reports this gut-busting laugher should seal the deal:

"This is the first big move for Tina Becker, the [chief operating officer] who has taken over for Jerry Richardson," Rapoport said Saturday on Good Morning Football Weekend. "There's been a lot of instability in the Panthers' organization. Locking Ron Rivera up long term gives them a big point of stability in Carolina."

What a fuging joke that one was....Tina Becker in charge, yeah, right.....LOL....never spoke a single word in the public forum.

    • would love it if Vegas were Week 5 (Oct 7).  Just throwing it out there with fingers crossed
    • I believe you are correct. Everyone remembers that record setting drubbing of the Broncos but that was the highlight of their season. They have very good coaching overall and they have a ton of talent. With a better QB they could have knocked off the Chiefs IMO. We aren't even in the conversation of the Dolphins until proven otherwise. We couldn't even get in the end zone against the lowly Chicago Bears. We got shutout and blown out by the CJ Beathard led Jaguars for fugs sake. We can't even compete with bad teams let alone run up the score on them. To me if I'm being completely realistic if I'm the GM and my job is on the line and I feel like Tua is Bryce Young's ceiling I'm drafting QB in the first round next year unless he just magically has a season like Stroud did last year. That's it. I'm genuinely not trying to be abrasive about this it just gets really mind numbing eventually that we keep lowering the bar down down down down down and it's like hey it's fine to have expectations. And if you have a young QB in his prime and he isn't giving you at least prime Jake Delhomme arm talent it's time to keep looking for a QB.
    • Not exactly.  They show that Jones was making the most of the opportunities he had.  I was never a fan of his, but I think that the talent level in NE last year is somehow escaping the massive negative attention it should have received.  That team was terrible - especially the talent and coaching on offense - and everyone was still afraid of the wrath of hoodie. He'll have a chance to restart his career at some point.  He was a middle of the pack QB as a rookie.  Plenty of teams out there would love to make it up to middle of the pack at QB.
