Who follows Rivera to DC?

Mr. Scot

It's unknown which assistants are under contract and which ones aren't, but I imagine anyone who really wants to follow Rivera to DC may not be blocked from doing so.

Of course, he has to want them as well.

OL Coach John Matsko, TE Coach Pete Hoener, Sam Mills III and the much beloved Eric Washington were here for Rivera's entire coaching tenure. Do they go with him?

What about guys Rivera gave opportunities to like Richard Rodgers and Chase Blackburn?

As far as prior staff, Steve Wilks and Al Holcomb are available, among others.

So who do we think he steals (or relieves us of, depending on your perspective)?

Has the entire staff been relieved yet?  If so, I haven't seen anything.  I'm assuming they are going to put some front office pieces in place and collectively make decisions on Ron's old staff.  I can tell you now, outside of Sammy Mills III, there better not be one defensive staff member retained.  When the defense largely quit on this team, the staff did not hold them accountable.  You want to tank?  Then bench under performing divas and get some young guys in there.  Send a message AND get some young guys game reps.

Addressed this elsewhere. You don't have to release them. Assistants are generally on short contracts, and given that Rivera was on the hot seat, possibly even shorter.

Plus it's not like we have anybody that you'd expect to be all that desirable for the next head coach. I imagine anyone who wants to defect will be allowed to do so.

Well then, bye Falica(s)!  This staff lost the locker room, and if that's not the case, it sure as heck looked like it from the outside.  Plus all the grumbling that's coming out of the players the past few day...it's going to take a brand new staff, with no cozy relationships, to demand excellence out of this bunch!

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
