Someone speculated that the Cowboys could keep him just long enough for most of his other potential opportunities to dry up and then just let his contract expire (1/14).

That'd be a real dick move, but then the Cowboys are owned by a real dick, so...

Not sure he would be in hot demand for a HC position.. might get a coordinator role!! Just can’t see Garrett being highly sought for after his average record in Dallas

I have also seen that they may do what Tepper is doing with Hurney; retaining him but re-assigning Jason elsewhere in the organization.  If that's the case, they still need a HC.

I'd expect him to get looks as an OC. At the very least, as a QB coach.

It's been speculated that Jones might be trying to get him to do that.
