i'm forcing myself to warm to mcdickface because it seems like he's tepper's guy.   i'm older, i only have so many more hissy fits and petulant frenzies left and i need to use them wisely

I know better than to complain about a draft pick, and I surely know better than to complain about a hire.  Here is my track record:

1. Loved the Seifert hire.  Got pumped.

2. Did not like the Cam pick--wanted Marcel Dareus, I believe if we stayed-- Wanted to trade down and grab a bunch of picks.

3.  Did not like Luke that high; felt his upside was limited.

4. Did not think CMC pick compared to Fournette--the only RB I had with a first round grade that draft (Maybe Mixon from Oklahoma).  Thought he comes from a conference that has gaudy offensive stats and no defense---and a white RB is a gimmick that only works in New England.

5. I was pumped that Clausen fell to us in the second round, after teams desperate for a QB (like KC and Minnesota a the time) passed on him--twice.  Feel the Hurn Burn, Vikes and Chiefs.  Psych.

6.  I thought Dwayne Jarrett was going to be a stud, but I changed that opinion when I saw him at OTAs.

The only picks I got right that come to mind:

1. I predicted that the Panthers would draft Georgia SS Thomas Davis and move him to LB.  I was mocked.

2. I thought Gross was a 10-year answer at LT.  I loved the Ryan Kalil pick.  (but I thought the Jarrett / Kalil second round would go down as the best in team history, following the trade down with the Jets that led us to Beason.  The Jets took Revis, I think.

3. I hated drafting Williams, Stewart, and Otah.  It was an overreaction from having to start Nick Goins in the NFL Championship game. Williams had high mileage at Memphis, Stewart had surgery and Otah just was not that great in college, in my opinion.   I still think we could have done better.

4. I did not see Everette Brown as a good fit.

5. I thought Greg Hardy saved that draft (Clausen, Lafell, Edwards, Norwood, Hardy).  Then I spoke to him at an OTA.  He cra.

My point?  Getting mad is stupid because we are stupid.  Let it play out.  Give everyone a chance to suck before you accuse them of it.

I thought McCarthy was a "safe" hire and was the choice if the Panthers planned to move on from Cam Newton, given us track record developing QBs. If the plan is to keep Cam, other options are better.

I have a bad feeling it's going to be Josh McDaniels. Personally hoping for Bieniemy or at worst, Stefanski. Absolutely hate the idea of Matt Rhule or Perry Fewell
