One note: He mentioned that he doesn't consider himself an offensive or defensive guru as much as he is just a head coach. He wants to have smart coordinators and assistants to handle the nuts and bolts.

That's smart.

just that he has all the respect in the world for Cam and knows what he can do on the field, etc. 

also said he was excited to continue to build the relationship and it was the first thing his kid asked once he took the job - "when do i get to meet cam newton"
