I think he has done a good job in the draft and free agency. Given the number of injuries we had the past 2 years it has been a revolving door for many units on the team. You have to separate the talent he has accumulated from the results the coaching produced which aren't synonomous. Would any disagree that the talent on this team has underperformed or do you think we don't have any talent?

What has he done a good job of in the draft? In FA? Because I have a long list of mistakes to counter the very few good moves.

Throw a fact out there. Then I will. Let’s see who runs out first? The coaching produced plenty while Marty was doing AM radio. Is that a fact or not?

Wasn’t there some sort of poll on here last week that asked how many poster wanted Hurney gone? I think it was around 80% to be gone. Sounds like more than a few vocal posters. Or is the real truth that there are a few posters that defend his resume’, while most are like the rest of the NFL, and know he’s incompetent.

Yeah, why blame the captain of the ship?   Tepper owns the boat but your boy is steering the ship.   So far he's managed to run it aground more times than Skipper and Gilligan.

Again the captain always goes down with the ship but it doesn't mean he caused the hurricane, torpedo or other disaster that may have sunk the ship. There is always plenty of blame to go around

Given everything you post turns into some kind of personal attack if folks disagree, you would be one of the last posters I would even consider a discussion since you seem incapable of keeping it civil. As for group think, it is very strong on here.  As for any survey, I didn't see it. But how many folks responded versus how many supposed people frequent this site? 80% of what?

You mean to tell me there's NO one else to do it? Like what if he fuging dies tomorrow, they won't have someone to take over? (No i'm not wishing death on hurney.)

Don't see why Hurney gets the courtesy of waiting until the season (draft) is done for him to get gone. Rivera was fired with 4 games left.

He has a scouting dept in place thats been working all year long for the upcoming draft.  What would the benefit be of firing these guys and possibly losing key intel to other teams when your target gm isnt available until post draft.  I dont understand huddle logic often but this one seems simple

I figured there would be some sort of “cop-out” to avoid actually discussing the FACTS of this(or any) situation. You made the statement. Back it up. If I’m such a big meany, Have it with any of these other posters. They seem to want to hear about it as well.

I guess 80% of posters that actually cared enough to vote. It sure is a long way from your imaginary “few vocal posters” as the only people that think he needs to go. Start another one. Make sure only people that agree with you vote. Of course, you posted in the thread you claim you didn’t see, so who knows what fantasy will come out next.

I did make the statement I think he has done a good job since he came back. What do I have to prove to you? Like your opinion matters or I have something to.prove to anyone. The reason we dont have reasonable discussions is that whenever someone doesn't have the same negative opinion as is frequently espoused, folks like you come out of the woodwork to argue and challenge them with no intent to actually exchange ideas. And actually those who actually vote in surveys invariable are folks who feel strongly about a subject which is usually negative. So they are a self selected  but vocal minority.

How many excuses and deflections can you cram into one paragraph? That’s impressive....even for you.

Don’t prove anything. It’s your default mode when asked to explain your statements.to just blame everything and everyone else. I’ve asked repeatedly for any “ideas” to exchange. You instead choose to assault a Thesaurus and basically say anyone who doesn’t agree with you is wrong.....because you said so.

Don’t worry. In a week or two you can just say you don’t remember this thread either.

Wow. A long way to try and keep picking a fight. I know we don't see eye to eye and that is fine but most folks who feel that way avoid each other's posts to keep things civil. But you wait to pick a fight. Yeah it is my opinion that Hurney had done a good job in his return. I have reasons for my opinion. But it isn't a contest. I can like him for X.number of reasons and you can hate him for Z number of reasons. That doesn't mean I am wrong in my view simply that I value different attributes and have a more  charitable view of his ability to collaborate and get his coaches what they need to do their job. Has the debate been that we don't have the talent or we keep underacheiving our potential. I am well aware of his shortcomings as well particularly pre-2011.

So while you can keep going with the negative points it won't change my mind because I have heard them ad nauseum and continue to believe that comparatively he is still worth keeping and giving him support and an ultimate successor so he can concentrate on what he does well. And if he gets canned, I will hope his successor is wildly successful. After all I am a fan of the team not of a player, coach or GM. We can agree to disagree and move on.

We have had this debate before over and over. Tell me something negative about Hurney I didn't know and maybe I will come over to the dark side  Otherwise this is ground hog day

You were the one that stirred up that hornet's nest again.  Just saying.

What fight? All you had to do was post ONE thing to support your statements, and once again you choose deflect and blame. Then act your “mythical” criteria is all that matters.

And we finally get to the “Super-fan” icing on the cake. Right where every discussion ends.

I just gave my opinion about him and said that I don't think my opinion is in the minority in panther land. Unlike the huddle where anything positive is quickly squashed out by naysayers. Who did I call out? You? Are you a naysayer?

Not taking the bait. We have had this discussion before. If it is going to be ground hog day with more Hurney debate  Forgive if I don't want you to have a starring role given how we don't see eye to eye.
