Lol you turd sandwich Cam Newton’s current cap hit is literally nothing what does that have to do with anything??

20 mil is 10% of the cap, how is that nothing? And what Tepper was probably referring to was the next contract Newton would want- Newton would be wanting more than 30 mil a year.

If you are evaluating his career by only looking at his passing statistics you either have the intellectual capacity of a grapefruit, or you have an agenda.

You can look at the numbers and remove his name, it still says 252 touchdowns. Reaching the end zone is kind of the point of the game, you know that right? Sit down somewhere Cletus.

Actually he has 240 TDs. Just for comparison here are the yearly averages:

Brees 28.9 per yr
Ryan 27.5 per yr
Newton 26.6
Winston 26.2

No name calling. Just facts, by your own measure.

I can't speak for media, but when I hear Carson Wentz's name, I see a quarterback version of Dan Morgan: great player when he's healthy, but can't stay healthy.

Depending on him to do in the future what he hasn't done so far is a pretty big gamble.

I've never had anything against Wentz and I feel like the NFL needs as many quality passers as possible. Hopefully he can be like Stafford and overcome all these injuries hes had so far

Look at the scrubs Cam has made a living playing with on offense for his entire 9 year career. He's never, not even once had a 1,000 yard rusher on his team except CMC's rookie year. He's constantly had to play with POOR offensive lines and offensive coordinators. Name one of the top 10 quarterbacks that have had to do more with less than Cam Newton has had to do in the last 10 years. Go ahead and name

Didnt Cam play many seasons with a consistent all pro center and all pro TE??? how many all pro TEs and O-linemen has Russell Wilson has played with? Receivers? And heres another factor?  Cam has played with a top 10 defense 5 out of the nine years of his career. So its been less pressure to score snd he's STILL has been inefficient as a passer. Stop making excuses. Like I said before, fun to watch, great highlights, not very productive.

And I thought great players make guys around them great. He doesnt. The most sacked QB in the league with No running game , poor line play AND no defense has finished in the top 10 in passing the last 5 years. Matt Ryan.

Says "stop making excuses" but wants to exclude any and all talk about rushing stats. LOL!

Meanwhile, Cam has passed for nearly 30k yards and over 180 TDs. You'd think the guy was The Golden Calf of Bristol the way you talk.

No I did include them after it was pointed out and he's still the 3rd most product td producer in the division. Barely beating out Winston who will probably pass in in that metric this year. Again , stop making excuses.

Oh wow. He trails Drew Brees who owns a ton of all-time records and a very good QB in Matt Ryan who has played several more seasons. You're ready to open a pie bakery with all these cherries you're picking.

Meanwhile, your former English teachers are crying themselves to sleep somewhere.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
