Dont know where that rumor started.

Dont even think they have the cap space to oay the tag at this point

Dimitroff adds that Atlanta would be open to either Hooper, Campbell or C Wes Schweitzer re-signing, but it would have to be at the right price.

Hooper is expected to be one of the top tight ends available and should move the tight end market north of the $10 million per year high watermark it sits at currently

Falcons currently have 4 mil in cap space. And it takes roughly 10 mil to sign draft picks

So they would need to clear up right at 16 mil in cap space Just to sign the draft picks and Hooper.  Thats not touching any other FA they have.

ESPN's Atlanta guy predicted that he'd be the one tagged if the Falcons used the Franchise Tag.

He also predicted they wouldn't use the Franchise Tag, and it's looking like they won't.

Atlanta's cap space is scary (for them), and that's just this year.  Next year?  Horrific.  Lots of changes coming for them.

Yup

Freeman is going to be a cap casualty, and even then, thatll just put then at 7 mil in space
