I remember when 95% of this board tried telling me Kalil was a better long term value than Whitworth because of his age.

Welp one is still playing and it ain’t Kalil

Nobody said that. The Kalil signing was widely criticized from the start here.

Saints signed Malcom Jenkins...we signing Von?  Looks like it could happen.

Where do u see we might sign Von. I read that they are going to start Boston and Burris in the backfield. I wish we would have signed him over Burris. They said we even talked to Trae Wayne. Sucks we couldn't get a good CB but I think Lions taking Trufant puts Okudah coming to us

As of now we are just getting a 4th. May get 6 and 7 from GVR and Irvin.

Carolina Panthers
Compensatory Free Agents Lost: 4 Compensatory Free Agents Gained: 3
Name Rd. APY Rank Name Rd. APY Rank
James Bradberry 3 $15,000,000 72 Teddy Bridgewater 3 $21,000,000 25
Mario Addison 4 $10,133,333 179
Vernon Butler 5 $8,000,000 253 Juston Burris 6 $4,000,000 425
Gerald McCoy 6 $6,666,667 301 Stephen Weatherly 6 $6,250,000 316

Butler is a comp pick round higher and as long as we don't have more signed than lost, we should get it back.  Irvin going to Seattle should offset Burris' signing returning Vernon's pick to us.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
