Could Jeudy or Lamb be the pick at #7?

It wouldn't surprise me. I'm not sure where all the Curtis Samuel love comes from. DJ has earned a spot, Robby Anderson deserves one, and I think that's it. They're starting over with this team, and it's evident that they want a strong passing game. I think that could mean a receiver here.

Saying we shouldn't take a WR isn't a knock against Lamb or Jeudy, it's simply understanding where we are at as a Franchise.

Simply put the Panthers have a wealth of talent to catch the ball in the upcoming season with very little chance at losing any of it soon. Even if Carolina doesn't have the best offensive weapons in the league, they're still better the most of the league.

On the other hand the Panthers have one of the leagues worst defenses, and they are set to lose more there in the coming seasons.

While drafting these two WRs would make any already strong position even stronger, it could also cost the Panthers another year or more in the rebuild process.

What's the wealth of talent? I see CMC and DJ as stars, and Anderson as a good player, and then a bunch of guys. That's three dudes. With nothing at tight end, I think one more receiver's a little more than a luxury.

I'm not against a WR in the 1st, but not at #7.  We better trade down if so.

If we could get trade down and acquire a 2nd + a 4th and still get Jeudy in the 1st, I'm not against it.  He's filthy.

Yeah looking more in depth at jeudy he is a monster at route running, def should be in consideration at 7.

If we want the best talent available, Jeudy is that. Okudah and Simmons will be gone. We’d be stupid to take a need (Derrick Brown) over BPA (Jeudy/Lamb).

Derrick Brown is rated higher then both of them by most analysts ... So BPA would be him..

I wouldn’t mind Brown. I’m just not as high on him as most people are. In my opinion, he’s not even close to Quinnen Williams as a prospect. I’ve said it before, Brown is a faster and more athletic Dexter Lawrence.

But he still rated higher then both of the WR's you named by most scouts and analysts.. So BPA would still be Brown when compare to Juedy and Lamb just on player ranking alone.. Which is what you said about the 2 WR..

I’m no expert. Just a fat piece of couch potato with diabetes. But I rank Jeudy and Lamb higher than Brown.

Then you would be wrong.. Because most of the ppl who actually get paid to do the job you're not. THE "EXPERTS". Think Brown is a top 5 player in this draft higher then both of the WR'S you named... The sooner you can admit that the better.. You can just say "imo the Wr's are better" Instead of acting like you did some research and your conclusion is back by analysts. WHo actually know what their talking about...

Samuel and Ian Thomas have shown promise and should be great in Brady’s system. Samuel had 6 TDs last year with a bad QB behind a bad offensive line throwing him the ball. After CMC, Moore, Anderson, Samuel, and Thomas you start getting into 6th options who are solid for how far down they are on the depth chart.

    • His points are valid.  However, it seems a bit based on past performance and fails to take into consideration trends and conditions that might suggest growth in 2025.   For one, he breaks the team down by position and ranks them separately.  I guess that is a fair way to do it, but they are dependent upon each other. Last year, our DL sucked.  That impacts the rest of the defense.  With no internal pressure, the QBs simply step up to avoid the Edge rush.  I would have suggested that the internal DL is now featuring pass rushers and large people who can collapse the pocket.  Secondly, the LBs were not protected very well in 2024.  It is hard to see the holes and step up when a guard is in your earhole a second after the snap.  Finally, the defensive backs will be forced to make fewer tackles and they will be better in pass protection with a new and improved DL.    Canales made an interesting comment the other day, and I (from the outside looking in) feel the same way:  (paraphrasing) "I have never seen a better group of rookies."   I think the biggest concern is the learning curve.  How long before these rookies are ready?   I am bullish on this team.  I think they win 3 of their first 4 and get confident.  The get the fans behind them.  From there, they win 6 of the remaining 13.  If they stay injury free, they have an outside shot at the NFC south.
    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
