Donovan Peoples Jones

We've signed quite a few WRs in FA and the Defense is in shambles, also the OL isnt great either.

That being said.  I love the pairing of DPJ with Joe Brady, and many have DPJ mocked in the early 3rd.

Jones was super hyped coming out of HS but never produced, and thats whats dinged him.

Joe Brady's offense is similar to new Orleans where he used to be an assistant coach.  That offense has a key weapon that keeps it going.

Michael Thomas.

No I'm not saying Jones is the next Thomas but both are similar big explosive WRs.  Where Jones can fit that role in Carolina.

Thomas fell to the middle of the 2nd for the same reasons you see Jones mocked in the 3rd.  Thomas had all that talent but never surpassed 800 yards in a season at Ohio State.  Why?  Bad QB play.  See the same reason why Jones is getting knocked down.  And in a loaded WR crop, pushed Further.

Back to his explosiveness and his size comparison to Thomas.

Michael Thomas

6'3 212  32 1/8 arms,  10 1/2 hands

4.56 40, 35 vert, 126 broad

DPJ

6'2 212  33 1/2 arms,  10 1/8 hands

4.48 40, 44.5 vert, 139 broad.

DPJ is a glue for that Thomas role in Brady's O, allowing us to move Moore around in the slot.

    • Who gives a crap what our ranking is in July. Now December that is different. Makes for great locker room material for Canales to use to prove em wrong
    • I wouldn't mind a deal that would add Rust or Rakell from the Pens. Move Jarvy to 2C, send KK and a prospect to Pittsbhrgh. Pittsburgh is taking calls for both. And both of them have played very well against Carolina.
    • I liked James on a personal level. I still do. But he had his flaws too and what's done is done. Charles Lee will get this season to showcase what he's building. If he and the team look like poo he should be on a very hot seat. But I don’t expect that to happen. I could be wrong. But I'd rather not be in this instance. Regardless. At some point we're going to be lucky to hire anyone worth a damn if we keep firing coaches. It's not something any of us should want to see because it's only going to mean yet another reset. Best case scenario is Lee with this infusion of youth establishes a refreshing culture change. We'll see.
