The bulk of touches outside of cmc are going to dj, Robby, and Ian. Not Samuel. We need a true slot receiver who catches the ball wit his hands not his body.

A “why not see” would cost us any value in return, or an empty paycheck.

I think better things will happen when Samuel touches the ball than Robby.

And again, I don’t want CMC to have a 2019 load in 2020.

Samuel is a MUCH better pairing IMO with Teddy in a Joe Brady offense than Robby Anderson.

The franchise tag for a receiver is even more than what i proposed...

Franchise tag and then trade him if you don't want to give him a contract.

It just doesn't make sense to trade him when we are able to use him as a runner or receiver in a ton of different looks. No other receiver on the board is capable of that. Let's see how he looks in Joe Brady's offense, which should be a signfiicant upgrade over Norv's antiquated offense, before we get rid of him

Ummm... No....

Ian Thomas will not have more targets or receptions than Samuel. Robby is a deep threat WR that probably will have less targets and receptions than Samuel also.

Thad moss has 47 receptions last year in Brady’s offense....Samuel had 54 as the “1” receiver Rivera announced him as. In our offense Samuel will have less receptions.

And if Samuel has another mediocre year, he is worth nothing. Take what you can get. He will only cost money or be worth nothing. We have the luxury to trade him now. We are in rebuild mode.

The kid from Memphis is a better version of Samuel

Why Samuel will be better than Robby?

Because Samuel is arguably the best WR on the roster with the ball in his hands.  With a knack for the endzone.  Easily the most diverse playmaker on O not named CMC.

Robby Anderson is largely a one trick pony....and that trick isn’t what Teddy Bridgewater prefers doing.

Let’s say he does that, would you pay 15+ million per year for him to stay after this year? Leading the panthers in rec tds three years in a row would warrant that. poo. funchess got 11mil.

or would you take a third round pick for him now?

curtis wouldn't ask for 15mil, funchess only got that high of a deal because it was a one year contract, to see if he could actually live up to his potential (answer was no).

DJ Moore is better with the ball in his hands. Hence why he led the league in YAC

    • More praise of Renfrow from Tim Weaver (formerly of USA Today's Panthers Wire, now SI.com), and also what I told some of you, my Huddle friends, from the start: keep it all in perspective, and don't conveniently---and perhaps unfairly, discount and label Renfrow as a JAG when it was a very debilitating illness affecting his play.    "It's understandable to be skeptical about Renfrow's abilities at this late point in his career. After all, he missed all of last season due to a bout of ulcerative colitis that also took a serious toll on his production in 2022 and 2023."   When Renfrow is healthy, he's an above average guy. Being 29 may hurt or help his chances depending upon perspective, but 29 for receivers generally means that there's still (sometimes plenty) gas in the tank. Renfrow also obviously has plenty of motivation and has come with his game face.   "Then agan, seeing is believing and by all accounts Renfrow has been very impressive since joining the Panthers a few months ago... Where Renfrow will fit in Carolina's new-look receiver corps remains to be seen, but at this rate it's going to be hard to exclude him from the initial 53-man roster." https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/hunter-renfrow-sick-route-panthers-training-camp Read the room, ladies and gentlemen. And don't get it twisted; Renfrow isn't the most talented receiver on the team, but we have seen his ceiling, when healthy, in a Raiders offense that wasn't necessary replete with talent. Consider what he can do, especially in the slot, in a Panthers offense primed with young talent (no pun intended). From sick to "sick routes," eh?
    • That is literally what I am talking about. Those were 53 man cuts. Not at the beginning of camp.  I would say the odds of Barno being back are extremely thin.
