Rhule is making a statement

Obviously Rhule is involved but Hurney is ultimately the decision maker.

Hurney is like me when I take my wife out to dinner. Sure, I “decide” where to go, but I can only choose from the one or two places she’s in the mood for.

It’s strange to me why this is hard for people to grasp. It’s pretty damn obvious.

Hurney respects and listens to the coaches opinions and ultimately relies on the coach to pick which players best fit his plans as does ANY good GM.

People sure seem fine discussing how well Pete Carroll drafts. I’m sorry, but is Pete Carroll the GM of the Seahawks?

Obviously Pete is the driving force of the draft. But that is because the GM understands that Pete is the one directly working with these players and producing the on field product.

Any good GM picks who the coaching staff wants. None of them say “I’m picking who I want whether he works in your system or not, so deal with it”

The fee exceptions don’t tend to last very long. A certain Dave Gettleman comes to mind.

So yes. Marty and Rhule have had a great draft. But that is because, as with previous coaches, Marty respects Rhules vision and is not making picks without Rhules adamant stamp of approval

Yeah, hope Teddy has life insurance.  Not even worried about his knee, I'm worried for his life.

I actually think were going to see some progress on the Oline. Regardless of what you think of the Okung trade.Trai had fallen off and Okung is a legit LT.  I think Bridgewater will be more protected with Okung as opposed to if we kept Trai.

I think Moton should have a decent year going into his 3rd season. I expect to see a fully developed player this year. Paradis was awful last year. The question is...was it because he just naturally sucks or was it because of the injury?  Nowhere to go but up for Paradis. Id like to think he should bounce back a little bit.  Daley performed admirably last year...we should see some improvement.  Greg Little is the xfactor.  If he is healthy....then we should see some decent development.

In my view the Panthers have invested in the Oline in recent drafts. I'd still like to see an FA picked up. Ultimately though I feel pretty good about the offense. I'd like to see a power back added for short yardage situations. Thats the one flaw in CMCs game.

(Okung is the best of the bunch even at his age, hes a stop gap)

I think Moton should have a decent year going into his 3rd season.(TBH I completely forgot he existed) I expect to see a fully developed player this year. Paradis was awful last year.(Yes he was) The question is...was it because he just naturally sucks or was it because of the injury?(He doesn't suck, he just might not fit)  Nowhere to go but up for Paradis. In my view the Panthers have invested in the Oline in recent drafts(Selected? Yes. Invested? Hardly.). I'd still like to see an FA picked up(Why now? They've gone D, keep going). Ultimately though I feel pretty good about the offense. I'd like to see a power back added for short yardage situations. Thats the one flaw in CMCs game. (Of the 22 positions on O/D RB doesn't even appear on the concern list)

We aren't that far apart.  The offense should be ok-ish as is, but with the type of investment on offense next year the way they did defense this year would cement CMC as a HOF'er, granted he survives this season.  It would also help protect whatever top QB we draft next year.

I never argued that Okung was a long term answer. When I think of Okung I think of what Michael Oher was able to do for us. If he can play well for two season Ill be happy. But he's a good player that buys us time though his prime is dwindling. He is WAAAY better to see on the blindside then what we've been trotting out there the past few years. Also Bridgewater is known to get the ball out quick which is something we havent had.

Offensively we may be better then what people think. Really the biggest problem is the Virus and not having time to really learn a new system adequately.  In addition to having a lot of holes on defense, having a good defense in the season of covid may he the best way to be competitive.

Good post until Hurney gets promoted tomorrow to “not GM”.

No way we lose enough games dude....

pipe dream. We go 6-10 or 7-9 most likely.

I know that. I’m being sarcastic. We are going to be better than Detroit and probably Jacksonville, Washington and NYJ. Three of those four teams need a QB.

How does that change a single thing I said?

Whether you want to believe it or not, Rhule is the one making 60mil and given the job to take this team to a SB champion, not Hurndog who is a lame duck.

    • What?!?!?! Chark's 1,000 yard season was 4 years before he played for us and he only had 525 yards in 15 games as our #1 WR.  Dude has 3,100 yards in 7 seasons, he's the literal definition of a JAG and you think he is better than half our current WR room? T-Mac is literally already better than Chark was at his peak, which again, was years before he ever even put on a Panthers uniform, and there is a real argument to be made that XL and Coker were both better as rookies than Chark was for us in his one season here.
    • Im glad we're starting low. It's nonsensical to put us at 28 IMHO based on objective things IMHO (I think 21-24) is far more appropriate but whatever. Washington was at the bottom last year FWIW.  In 2003, Sports Illustrated said our best chance to win the division was to transfer to the ACC. In 2015, everyone wrote us off as a team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record in 2014 and lost our best WR in TC (Kelvin Benjamin). All these videos are fodder for conversation, but this prediction has no more validity than saying the Panthers are making the SB bc we're starting the season against the Jaguars again. If Bryce plays like he did down the stretch we will end up the season just fine. This roster is much better than it has been the last 2 seasons. No one knows who any season will ultimately end up, but this team is finally being built in the right way, and the idea that this roster can't compete this year is as insane as being it was when we were gaslit in 2023 that we were a rookie QB from winning the division with that roster.
