I don't give PFF ratings any weight.

That said, if I were creating an All Decade Top 100, Jordan Gross would absolutely be on that list.

It sounds a little Huddle PC to say, "I don't give PFF ratings any weight," especially considering that most (if not all) of the NFL franchises give them some credence. I would think that the more appropriate way to view PFF would be to say, "I believe that PFF is a tool to be used in rating a player, but it's not one to be used without context or in a vacuum."

Panthers logic after Gross retired:

This team no longer needs a legit LT

It's maddening to me how we have completely ignored the O Line for so long, or have tried to fix it and failed, but the entire NFL is having issues with getting OT's that can hold up....if some of these freak athletes don't stop going defensive line over offensive line, I'm not sure I see an end to it.

And I can't blame them to be honest for choosing D over O.

Absolutely. The Panthers and Colts are two of the dumbest teams in the last 10 years.

When you are bad enough to get the number 1 overall pick, your team is pretty dumb.

When your front office and head coach don't have any idea what to do with supreme talents like Luck and Cam, you are a very dumb team.

When you allow a GM who has no idea what he is doing, run the team for the first few years of Luck or Cam's career, you are a very dumb team.

When you allow the head coach to run said players into the ground to cover his own ass, you are a very dumb team.

When you hire back the GM who you fired for cause in the past, you are a very dumb team.

This team has been doing dumb poo for as long as I can remember, and we ain't stopping now....full steam ahead.

And what metric do you use to grade players then, especially players that aren’t on the panthers?

If you are only using the eye test on your own players then you really aren’t judging players to everyone but only to your own artificial standard of what you think they should be?

Metrics only matter to list makers. I'm not interested in lists.

The only things I ask myself when I look at a player are "How good is he?" and "Is he good enough?"
