Richardson statue "gone for good"

Please. Stop spreading this conspiracy theory. 0.0% proof of that.  Scott Fowler and Johnathon Jones have both posted details about the contract before, and again today.  FFS.

Pretty sure it was both Fowler and Darin Gantt who first advanced the idea.

It's a theory. Is it valid? Don't know. Probably not, but the theory exists.

That statue is definitely important to JR.  Glad it’s gone, though.  But those Panther statues around it are pretty cool, I’d love to have them around somewhere.

I always thought it would be cool if we had more Panther cat statues around. Would be dope to have a few prowling or perched along the top of the bowl around the stadium.

The whole "public safety" angle is kind of a reach to me.

But if they can make it stick...

I agree they used all the recent protest as a cover, but I can see the safety aspect of it.  Those things are heavy, and a group bringing it down might not be thinking safety first.

Case in point

Oh, I'll grant that it's a possibility, albeit a remote one.

That said, I think we both agree it makes a convenient excuse to do something they wanted to do anyway.

It’s realistic given recent protests. It sounds like they saw tweets and other chatter from people who wanted to tear it down. The threat of that statue causing an incident that law enforcement would have to respond to or the possibility of a protester hurting themselves or others while pulling it down is all plausible.

Plausible as something that could happen, sure. You could say that about a lot of things, though.

I think the ultimate answer is that Tepper wanted the statue down (he certainly removed a bunch of other stuff that was Richardson related long ago) and he found a rationale to make it happen.

"Mr. Jerry" has his $billions from the sale of the team and considering his replacement ticker and age, probably won't be around a whole lot longer. Why pick a fight with another billionaire over what has to be the ugliest piece of bronze on earth?

Not that I don't believe you, but do you have a link to those articles?

I've seen Fowler, Jones and others talk about it, but none of them actually claims to have seen the language in the contract. What they have comes from sources.

Sources can tell you pretty much anything they want.

JJ article has notes in it today.  This podcast with him he said the same in November.  Yes, "his sources" told him this.  He is also Sr NFL reporter for CBS...not David Newton.

Besides Mr Scot pushing the conspiracy, not one source or one bit of evidence to collaborate.  It's like I am in a Trump forum.

Report: Richardson won't challenge removal of statue

Wat the actual fug...”I don’t care about statue” *puts in contract clause*...society goes into chaos and unrest *removes statue* “meh, I didn’t care about the statue anyways”...

I mean can a person be more full of poo than JR without exploding? The world may never know.

JR cried over not putting Hardy on the exempt list quickly enough. If you think he isn't upset over the statue and his wrecked reputation then I don't know what to tell you.

Being upset about it a realizing you did something wrong are completely different. No one gives two shits about the former.

It was literally just posted a day ago JR stated he has always fought for equality and treated everyone fairly despite a 3 million fine from the NFL, selling the team, and paid off people with non disclosure statements...he seriously does not think he did anything wrong, who gives a poo if he’s upset about that.

He should offer a public apology for his mistakes, period which we know he won’t do. fug him
