Will Ian Thomas develop into a quality starter?

Ian has a ton of potential to be a great receiving tight end. I think it's the coaches job to put him in that position and not ask him to be a largely blocking tight end.

He's got big shoes to fill, but low expectations from the fans. That's both tough and full of opportunity at the same time. New coaches, new QB, most tenure in the TE room, it's really his time to shine or to fail. Sucks in a way, but his paychecks for potential sure have been larger than anything I have cashed.

He is a high potential guy. I suspect he will never reach that potential and be a guy that always leaves Panther fans wondering, "What if?"

The biggest positive I can say right now, is he fits what Rhule&coaches want in a player. Hes young, loads of raw talents, got real game snaps, and other staffs have not been able to get him to take the next steps. (Just like Efa). 

All teams have these type of players each year they are saying "This is his time, hes going to breakout" Repeat year after year, Thomas maybe the panthers one.
