The naming of Newton seems to have been a leak from a team meeting, not a public announcement. Every article states that it was "from a source" from a "team meeting"

Which is why the question came up.

But let's be real, this is not exactly a huge secret.

Or the fact he’s a team captain lol get real

Newton is QB1 and is going to embarrass  us even more for how mismanaged he was

Mitch Trubisky won the Bears starting nod...interesting

Dude is talented but they seriously don't have much skill talent around him.  Robinson is good but no game breaker.

As a Heels fan, I was honestly kinda hoping the Bears would move on from him and trade him. I kinda think Nagy is a turd that got floated by Andy Reid.

Yeah, agree...he is sneaky good but very inconsistent as a passer.  He probably should not have gone 2nd but the arm is there.  Dunno man, that leadership gene is suspect with Mitch.  He is quiet.

And again...they have very pedestrian WRs and RBs to play with...lots on his shoulders

They definitely should've taken Mahomes. That much is certain. But I don't think Mahomes is the Mahomes we know without Andy Reid. That guy really is the QB whisperer. Swap their situations and I think they're both probably considered good young QBs but neither would be setting the world on fire.

Totally man...completely agree.  Reid passed for years on QBs but found his guy and pounced.  You are spot on here.

Not saying Mitch in KC would change it all but man he would be so much more effective with those weapons and Reid.

Another thought...if Trevor Lawrence goes to Jacksonville he is going to fail.  As great as he is...he will be behind the game straight off.  Crazy.

Lawrence would be freaking perfect for us with Moore, Anderson and CMC Had we gone all out for him, the extra $90M in cap space and 4 comp picks would have made for a great way to select a ton of OL/offense in the draft. Would have worked nice with our all D draft this year.

Update on another guy a lot of Panther fans coveted in the draft...

The Jaguars have reportedly traded safety Ronnie Harrison to the Browns for a fifth round pick.

Less coveted and more of a why did we take Gaulden over him. Might as well draft a real safety rather than an unathletic tweener.
