Brown:

Reaching out to kids of need with charity events.

Says Panthers are pissed off losing 4 games in a row. Not worried about Brady being fired up after playing one of his worst games ever.

The shock of suddenly playing against all pros with no preseason has worn off.

Brown is working on his keys (defensive details).

Grew up watching Tom Brady. Got over the shock factor playing against him.

Working on breaking down film. Still learning and progressing.

He has a lot of flaws that are simplistic. Trying to improve. Time away from football hurt his skills.

John Miller:

Scheme is exciting. Confuses defense with different looks.

Without CMC we had other guys step up. Mike D. Next man up.

Rhule wants players to be mad about losing. Goal is to win games. Starts on the practise field.

O-line coach is very detailed. Eyes, feet, hands, all needs to be on point. Start a fight be violent (within rules).

I watched the interviews with Chinn and Derrick.  very impressed with both.  Derrick talking his dad being a vet.

I believe Derrick said he was part of a charity event for vets that was going on during the time of the interview, and that he would have been there if not for practice.  I love his demeanor.  No nonsense, straight to the point, no spin, no standard "I just want to help the team" answers.  Gets to the point immediately.

For example, when asked about whether Brady would be mad about coming off one of his worst ever games, he said "we've lost 4 games in a row.  We're mad too."

Perfect response for someone who expects to win each game no matter what the expectations are.  For anyone thinking about buying a Derrick jersey, pull the trigger.  He's going to be here for a long time, and he's going to be good for a long time.

    • I don't think anybody with a brain thought or thinks we are a legit super bowl contender this year.  I do LOVE the young core group that is forming. Part of the reason I defend Bryce Young is that if he is not good enough, we're going to waste a lot of this young talent we have anyway.  You don't go from 5-12 to super bowl contender in one offseason unless you get a major injury back or get an insane free agent haul. We currently can't hang with the best teams in the league.  We are also much closer than we were 365 days ago. Progress is good. There's still an outside shot at the playoffs, but I am really excited to see what Dan Morgan does with this offseason. Rico Dowdle a big decision. Jalen Coker, Brycen Tremaine, Cade Mays, Austin Corbett, Brady Christensen, Nick Scott and Christian Rozeboom are the guys we have to make decisions on. But this rebuild should be over next August. Or we have to do it again.  Improvements needed at pass rush and linebacker for sure.  Expecting us to win a super bowl this year is like expecting a kindergartener to do calculus. Is it possible? I guess so. but 99.9% shot it aint happening. We played like doo-doo against the bills, but that was definitely a penciled in loss from the day the schedule came out. Candidly though, if Bryce is ever going to be it, next year is the year we need to start being really good.
    • Yeah he put us in too big of a hole in which we had to pass more.  3rd and long with a slow roll out and he tried to tuck in and run with a fumble in the redzone.  3rd and long with an INT on our side of the field.  Then we get to like the 10ish yard line with less that 30 second and no timeouts (even Greg said we have to try to quick throws here), what does Dalton do?  Take a sack allowing us to barely rush a FG out (which missed due to being rushed).  You absolutely can't take a sack there.  Throw in getting sacked 6 additional times with 2 additional turnovers.  He also missed TMac on a TD where Shaq was trying to cover him and missed an open JHJ on a big gain.  Box Score watching won't tell the story yet people are going to try to do it anyway.   Now it's pretty clear he isn't the upgrade that some were claiming he is, but they can spin it differently I'm sure.
    • The combined record of teams we've beaten: 9-21. Some of y'all get fooled so easily.
